Furn,

I know what you mean the forum seems to be a little quiet, I hope you enjoy your 2 weeks at the lake. I went to a water plane meeting last Sunday it was magic. I was dog fighting over the lake with another Magnatilla and a racked up another 8 flights with my Sunderland. I also found out the Sunderland will fly like a pattern ship if you are bored! Must be the tapered / semi symetrical wings & the 1350 watts of power! Stall turns, loops and consecutive roll are not a problem!

Im also part way through a 10ft Martin Mars (electric)

This year, I took a new protege under my wing and I'm teaching him to do reviews for RCU Magazine. He just got the new Saratoga w/ Floats from H-9. It looks like a real sweatheart!

I'm afraid flying has pretty much taken over for now. My 2 Cubs (1/5 and 1/4) have been getting plenty of 'nautical miles' and the new Northstar I brought out has proven to be a real hoot. I swear that plane doesn't rotate during takeoffit just levitates up.....level and FAST. Since Mariners have become scarce, helped my buddy use my old one to make 'plans' and he's flown that several times now. Flys like a ....... Mariner! Two of them up together looks good.

Back on the board I've been struggling to find time to finish a BUSA Fokker D VIII. NO- it's not going on floats!

Enjoy your lake time.

I've been making 2 sets of foam core floats. One for my BH Twister, which I hope to have mounted and test floated before the weekend is over. The other set for a friend to put on his trainer. Glad I started with my set so I can figure out what to do and what not to do when finishing them. Siddus, those birds look great. Is the White with Red tail the Sunderland? Where did you get the plans for that?
Regards,
Curtis

Yes the red and white one is the Sunderland; the plans are available here > > > [link=http://www.tonynijhuisdesigns.co.uk/Sunderland72.htm]http://www.tonynijhuisdesigns.co.uk/Sunderland72.htm[/link]

I upped the power and built it really light, it is sensational to fly . . . if you build it you will not be dissapointed.

Best regards,

Scott.

Man, that is a beautiful plane. I was surprised to see that it has a 72" wingspan. It looks like a parkflyer from your pictures. Not a bad price for the cut formers, cowl and plans. I may have to look into it in the future.
Thanks,
C
