Default Nitroplanes Seawind?

Hello!

I noticed onNitroplanes that they have a Seawind ARF similar to the Greatplanes model - different trim, and forward fuse shape, but very similar. Also, it costs only $200.00, plus all hardware included.

Has anyone had experience with this model? Is it much different from the GP version?

Thank you

Graeme

Hi, I'm here for the first time.
I have a nitro seawind converted to electric motor and I have ten flights on it so far.
It's a nice flying airplane, it got the looks, and i think I've setteled on mysetup now.

I spendt four weeks(I think) working evenings and weekends,assembling/converting it to electric power.
It's really agood thing converting it electro, the motor batterysits really far forward, balancing the plane at 45mmfrom the wing leading edge
and the motor is lightweight behind the C of G.
I alsorelocated therudder servo forvard into the cocpit and the elevator servo sits where the trottle servo was supposed to. (In the fueltank compartment).
Everyting for a good C of G.and the servos are out of the water spray.

Here's a link to a video I made on the fourth flight. Hope you like it

In the video it appears to have better manners than the GP Seawind.  Especially takeoff.
The GP examples I have seen liked some flaperon for takeoff.

Hi.
You are probably right, but it would have been interresting to test both models side by side, with the same conditions on the water. Water conditions are rearly the sameeach timeI fly.
But I have not even seen the GP version in real life, just in videos and photos.

In the video you may have notisedmy second landing being quite firm, but i got away with it without any bouncing so the nitro is kind of forgiving, and I have nevercaught a wingtip in the water.
(might be pure luck)

I also have a Nitroplanes Seawind.

While overall I like the plane - the wings were constructed upside down on my kit. By this I mean that the servo bays were built to exit the TOP of the wing! I have spent a considerable amount of time not only relocating the servo mounts to the bottom of the wing, but also in redesigning the servos so that they are internal to the wing. My aileron and flap servos are now sideways mounted in the wing with only the arm protruding. Much cleaner and less likely to get wet. And like FNG2, I mounted my elevator and rudder servos internally as well.

Hi.
I've seen that on another nitroplanes seawind  on youtube. If I build another I defenetly mount the wingservos the way you did.  Have you flown it yet and what engine did you install?

cheers
