Big Stick on floats

A friend of mine has a Big Stick 60 he wants to put on floats. It has a Magnum .91 four-stroke on it. He has managed to come up with a set of plastic floats off a crashed 60 size cub. (Not on floats at time of crash) The floats are 38" long with a very shallow "v" hull, steering servo is in hull. I think they will work but I would hate to tell him to go for it and lose a plane and engine. Any input guys?

Big stik is 48in appox. in size. 3/4 fuse is 36in for floats. You have more than enough for flying. doesn't really matter what's on the bottom with a smaller airplane, flat or "V" hull. A few guys in our area fly this exact setup with smaller floats and they work. Stik is real light on water. 30 foot takeoff with a 91.
