Mini Float Fly
 

Had an ideal day today for a three-man mini float fly. Sunny, warm, slight wind, cooperative water sprites. All was good and the way it was supposed to be.

Small lake, small dock, small group. Big fun.

This was it's first trip out and the owner decided to sell it at his soonest opportunity.  Neither of us other two made him an offer.  It looks great; but flies like a small foam model (I'm really the wrong guy to ask about small foam models).  Surprisingly long time to pop free of the surface.  The Mentor flew circles around it; and I'm seriously infatuated with my Saratoga and have love goggles where she is concerned.

Actually, the Icon flies like a real plane.  Throttle for altitude, not especially aerobatic.  Probably pretty scale for a pusher amphibian.  It seemed to fly like the full-size SeaBee that was flown off a lake we used to keep a sailbooat on.  It will get you on the water and above it - that's what counts.</p>
