BJ recommends 200mm back from the wing root leading edge. I prefer more forward than that - 180 to 190mm. The airplane is more stable with this CG location. The vertical lines and KE trim are not...

Bob,

I have flown the Invitation quite a lot and do not find the yaw response to be overly sensitive. Actually, quite the opposite relative to a number of other current designs. I will assume...

I have run this motor a lot in both an Acuracy and a Citrin. Hacker says it is similar in performance to a C50-13XL. I can confirm that.

Like the 13XL, the motor is really best with 20" props,...

Robert,

Please provide a reference distance from the glow plug to some point on the Hatori 650 (screw, high point, or preferably the distance to the reflector)

Thanks,

Some addition info on the Acuracy EP...

The quality is very good and it is amazingly light weight (see attached table). You can make an airplane too light, but the Acuracy does not fly like it is...

F3A Fuselage Size/Shape Comparison

I thought this might be of interest to the pattern community. Some quick tracing of available (on the Net) drawings and photos using Powerpoint. The Acuracy (mono), Episode and Proteus were traced...

Alex,

Awesome work. Thanks!

To add to Jim's comment....why do the Rasa articulated props, which have a lot less area at the hub than typical prop designs, require significantly less right...

Jim,

I have not found the need for thread locker, and as I recall from somewhere it is not recommended. I very lightly snug the screws and have not had any come loose in the 4 years I have been...

RE: BJCraft Episode

I use up aileron for landing on my biplanes. With the extra wing area of the bipe there is sometimes a need to kill lift absent a head wind. Also, the effective washout is very helpful in gusty...

RE: New Extra Light Mejzlik Props

I have run the 21x14 EL for a while. 38 grams. These have a blade shape that is different than APC or Falcon (Falcon appear identical to APC absent measurement). There is less jumpiness in the...

RE: New OXAI CITRIN by Wolfgang and Roland Matt

It is mounted on the bottom of the fuse, below spinner. No airflow. I have found the Spin ESC does not get overheated no matter where it is placed relative to air flow.

Could it be a bad...

RE: New OXAI CITRIN by Wolfgang and Roland Matt

I find the cooling in the Citrin to be the best of any e-powerd airplane I have had. I have only the small exits behind the LG as described and no special duct work. Everything runs cool. I use a...

RE: 150 meter rule.

I completely agree with Earl and Brett having made similar measurements and observations myself...many people are flying beyond, some well beyond 175m. Distance is not IMO being downgraded properly...

RE: New OXAI CITRIN by Wolfgang and Roland Matt

My heaviest TP5000 pack is 1167gr. The airplane was weighed with that. The TP5000 is a 10s brick which is a bit lighter than 2x5s.

For reference my Amethyst came in at 4997 with all the same...

RE: BLS 651 GEAR
