Silkspan does have a grain. To find it just tear a little corner to see which way the tear will run. The direction it runs will determine the direction you put it on the wings. The tear should go...

I would suggest that when you get near the last coat of fiberglass use a blown up balloon about 10 or 12 inches in dia.

Thank You!! This was a great help. This was why I wanted the manual. Now all I need is the exploded view of the FS-90 along with a parts list.

What I have is a FS 90 not 91. It is inscribed on the body of the engine in two different places.
I guess an email to the company is the next best thing to do.

Thanks for your help, but, I still don't see the FS90 listed there.
There are over 30 listed plus 3 carburator manuals but none for
the FS 90.
Sure hope my eyes aren't getting bad in my ole age....
