RE: Need some new lipos

David- sorry for not responding sooner, I didn't see that a reply had been posted here. That is some great info you have there!

Just FYI- I ended up buying a different set of ebay packs (for...

Need some new lipos

OK, I know this has been asked numerous times in the past, but new sources pop up almost daily, so I figured I'd ask again.

I am looking for some 3S 1500-2000mah packs. The two models they will...

Looking at the 70mm F22 and F18

I was wondering which of these two planes would be better for a hand launch and belly landing and also which of the two "slowed down" better for landings in tighter areas. I'm assuminf the F22 due...

RE: 7015/3 prop on Blackjack 55?

Yup, I can't see why it would have to be so high out of the water, but everyone kept saying it had to be raised to get it to work, so I figured what the hell and raised it :). No harm in trying, but...

RE: 7015/3 prop on Blackjack 55?

Thanks Glenn. I have the prop up about 8mm now and it is cavitating on the launch. I can go higher, but don't want to lose bite on the bottom end. Also, to go higher will require me to remove my...

RE: 7015/3 prop on Blackjack 55?

I am actually discussing that with someone else as we speak. I don't 100% know the answer yet, but I don't want to give up my clutch just to do so either. Not for the use this boat sees :D.

RE: 7015/3 prop on Blackjack 55?

It may. Chris (dasboata) is convinced there is something wrong with my boat if it can't pull that prop, but I'm not the only one who couldn't get it to pull a prop this size. I'm stumped. I just...

RE: 7015/3 prop on Blackjack 55?

Where do you have your strut set to? I had to open up the slot on mine to raise it much higher to get it to start to pull this prop. It still isn't pulling the RPM's I'd like though.

RE: 7015/3 prop on Blackjack 55?

That's the one. I don't know how accurate the speed claim is, but the boat is pretty nice for the price. I bought one of his 32" electrics and the quality is very nice for the price. Not quite on...

RE: 7015/3 prop on Blackjack 55?

I am actually looking at that Chinese 42" mono with a Zen for going faster- don't know if you've seen them or not. The hulls are decent for the price and it is a real Zen, so the potential is there....

RE: 7015/3 prop on Blackjack 55?

Thanks Eric. I am using the red synthetic grease- forget the name of it, it is an automotive waterproof u-joint/wheel bearing grease (I am a car nut, so I have plenty here lol). The friction is way...

RE: 7015/3 prop on Blackjack 55?

I brought the strut up today, so I'll see how it likes that. I can't go any higher than where I have it now (about 5/16" to the bottom of the strut) without completely removing the stuffing box and...

RE: 7015/3 prop on Blackjack 55?

I understand that- but this is higher than the stock strut would allow- I had to open up the strut slot quite a bit and bend the stuff box up a ways to get it higher than it would go stock. I don't...

RE: 7015/3 prop on Blackjack 55?

See, I told him initially that I had heard a 72 is a good size for this boat, but he said this one would be better. Once I realized it wouldn't work, he said to raise the strut because it has to...

RE: 7015/3 prop on Blackjack 55?

he asked me if I wanted him to remove some pitch, I just don't know what the best way to go about it is. I asked if they had a smaller 3 blade that would work better, but he never answered. I'm...

RE: 7015/3 prop on Blackjack 55?

He is willing to do what it takes to make it right, I'll give him that.

I'll play with the strut, just sucks because my stuffing box/brass tube sits too low to go higher than the stock strut...

RE: 7015/3 prop on Blackjack 55?

Sorry Glenn, if it doesn't work- dasboata is going to make good on it since he recommended it and sold it to me for this boat. I'm not eating a $70 prop :). So far he seems to be willing to help, I...

RE: 7015/3 prop on Blackjack 55?

I'll give that a shot then, just stinks because I'll have to either remove the stuffing box and reposition it or try to bend it without cracking the boat since it will not line up with the strut if I...

RE: 7015/3 prop on Blackjack 55?

It was like glass- BUT I had the strut with a lot of upwards thrust to try to unload the prop. I don't think it would have blown off with it level. With it level, it will need to come up quite a...

RE: 7015/3 prop on Blackjack 55?

The prop I have is a 7015/3- not 2. I just don't see if having the power to pull it, not going by my first runs. Not without raising the strut way up and having to relocate the stuffing box up a...

7015/3 prop on Blackjack 55?

OK, it was recommended to me to run a 7015/3 prop on my BJ55 so I got one and tried it out. The motor will not pull it and it never unloads- unless I am making a wide right turn, then it starts to...

RE: Blackjack 55 taking on water

Nope, the grease is for both- lubrication and sealing. You are "technically" supposed to remove the flex shaft after every outing, clean it and regrease it. This is true of any boat running a flex...

RE: Proboat Blackjack 55 Catamaran

Hey Eric- quick question about the pipe length. If you are running a muffler, should that be added to the pipe length as well, or do you only count to the tip of the original pipe? Also, it the...

It's possible. Mine seals just fine though, so I can't advise you there :D.
