i am also interested in how the new version preforms, not currently flying mine either, i had a issue with a elevator servo unplugging itself in flight caused a roll out of a turn and straight down....

if you have not yet glued the dowels in the center section you would be very wise to glue the dowels in the wing panels and have them slide into the center section! they are very easy to break off...

the way i did it was with a round file on the second rib then using a piece of ply with a hole in it glueing it in at the correct position for 3 degrees

i DO know that len, i had a half a tank or so of fuel left in it and didnt feel like taking it out, its just a ARF anyway. so i figured slightly nose down to compensate for the fuel left in the tank...

put a high torque servo in each lower panel out in the wing directly in front of horn you wont like the tube set up. make sure you have LOTS of up and small amount of down on your ailerons...

from what i am seeing you will constantly have overheating issues with that install. your best bet is to invert the engine, ya i know it will suck for the scale looks but a dr1 deadstick is NOT FUN!
