RE: Graupner jet sprint

Quicksilver will have a first hand account - here's my understanding - Graupner is cheaper and flimsier alternative to KMB.
I have KMB 23mm jet and the quality is very good. If you have ability to...

Tsunami Proof Boat

glue any 2 boats together so it will not matter which side is "up"

RE: hows this?

Agree 100% - what we argue about I don't know, water cooled setup is better than air in many speed boating applications.
I was just trying to explain the situation when somebody had air cooled...

RE: hows this?

ROFL, I like your defensiveness, I almost feel important as people are usually not intimidated by me :D
No I am not kidding, dead serious. Are they full of crap? Maybe... I highly doubt (I would...

RE: hows this?

Slower water flow speed makes difference only in closed loop systems (such as computer cooling or engine cooling). But this relates only to how long the water spends in the radiator. The longer water...

RE: New Project, brushless jet boat

received 540-9XL - this thing is a beast... certainly the largest DC motor I've seen. The L version probably would be about the right fit, XL looks scary in that boat.
With RPM and all other things...

RE: jet villain IV

I see... well it says that it requires the power of 42-45mm (43.5 ave) prop with pitch 1.5
It is not the same as 42mmx1.5 pitch cut down to 28mm

Let me see if I am waaaaay waaaay off about my...

RE: jet villain IV

I think it is molded on and is not removable, I am still working, I'll take a closer look in the evening. Hopefully will not have to work late.

RE: New Project, brushless jet boat

yes.
I've got estimate and shipping was 35 Euros, not too bad considering it's DHL express mail (does not go through customs) but I would rather wait 3 weeks to save a bit money. Luckily I found...

RE: A very different gas boat

How about converting outboard into a jet? or at very least just a shroud fan... I've seen some kits which will do it for the larger engines (20HP and higher)

RE: Simple question about radios

The problem is in changing the nozzles... Maybe something like up/down arm which will take the new nozzle down, but there would not be a good seal b/n the two nozzles, water will "leak" and create...

RE: A brushless question

I agree, I overgeneralized things. However I was not aware that some $$$ motors are made in China.
I am not surprised with regards to "Made In China" / "Made In CountryX" at all. Once upon a time,...

RE: A brushless question

I think that 12 cell (14.4 V) on that motor may be too much for the drive.
Recommended RPM range is 15-20K RPM
12L is 2048 RpV, running at WOT is 29491.2 RPM, way outside the spec (I may be...

Since I have to start from scratch - what are the good batteries...
