ESC Questions?

This im sure is a simple question,
How does ESC actually work? And how do you chose the correct ESC for your motor?

the reason i ask is because im following an diagram for i guess what they call a Nasty and it sugest a 350 motor wiht an d gearbox so i just looked up stuff for the motor and couldnt find anything...

Turning questions....

Well this is probaly a simple question but I thought that I would give it a shot... My Savage SS is haveing problems turning... I have changed the batts in the RX and the TX and it did not help...

How can you tell if the car is tuned correctly? With my car when you set all the adjustments to factory it seems like it just floods it self. How can you tell if its to rich or lean? Any pointers...
