RE: Goldberg Cub Elevator Flex

Thanks Mike B. for helping with the illustration. The wire yoke is used "in-place" of the dowel. You would use one or the other, but not both. You would make the wire yoke out of 1/8" piano wire,...

RE: Goldberg Cub Elevator Flex

I wanted to add to my last post by suggesting that any type of pins in the dowel/elevators could be done AFTER glueing it. Actually, it would be much easier this way and you would not have to worry...

RE: Hinge question

Very good advice. The blocks also help to keep glue from getting pushed back through the holes and spilling out onto the inside of the covering of the model when you install the Robarts.

RE: extremely frustrated

Try to use some really soft and supple foam for the tank. The main reason for using foam around the fuel tank is to try to keep down the vibration. If the tank with fuel vibrates alot, the fuel...

RE: Goldberg Cub Elevator Flex

Sure the dowel can be replaced with a metal rod. Some 1/8" piano wire as a yoke would be better than using that dowel alone. I understand your concern. Look at how much stress is being applied to...

RE: Piston liner stuck

I just had the same experience pulling the sleeve on an engine, and as others have suggested, heat is your friend.
Also, if it's really being stubborn, after tapping it out a bit with a wood or...

RE: Are ASP engines good engines??

fairplay,

I've only owned one ASP, a 2-stroke .61 ABC. I've had problems with mine, mostly in the mixture settings. I've talked to several local people who owned various-sized ASP 2 strokes,...

RE: Astro Hog 1st Flight

Congratulations! I know how good that feels when everything is setup right. I built a Hog back in '95 that I still have. Doing some work to get it into flying condition, and should be flying again...

CARB lockbar a potential airleak source? Opinions welcome.

I'm wondering about these rotating-barrel, twin needle carbs. Many manufacturers use them, and I have one on my ASP .61 ABC that has given me fits. I also have an OS .40FP with the little...

RE: removing connecting rod from crank pin?

Thanks downunder.. No problem getting the sleeve out earlier. A bit of heat and a nylon punch started it out ok. Connecting rod/piston assembly came out easily. Con-rod has a mark on the rear...

RE: removing connecting rod from crank pin?

Thank you for the reply. I was just looking hard at it a few minutes ago and decided that this was the only way. Glad to hear from you to confirm this. No problem. It ALL has to come apart anyway....

removing connecting rod from crank pin?

Hoping for some help here. My ASP .61 ABC needs to be torn down for inspection (rusty bearings). I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how to the the connecting rod off of the crankshaft...

RE: Century 7 system

My Century 7 has a module part NET-J72P on 72.470. Could you tell me if any work is needed to legally use this radio? I had it sent in to Horizon back in '95. They tuned and tested it for me.

RE: ASP .61 eating glow plugs

This holds true for my .61 ABC. I could never get it to idle correctly, could not even kill the engine with the throttle barrel completely closed either. In the air, she'd run ok at high power...
