RE: Sportwerks Recoil 1/14

The Dynamite C4 is the same can size as the Mamba 20mm diameter, by 33mm length...same as the Mamba. I doubt it has any more capacity. I'd be concerned about motor temps and longevity.

RE: Sportwerks Recoil 1/14

The lower kV motor will be more slightly more efficient....and it will draw less current at the same throttle...however, it will probably have the same, or less power capacity as the higher kV motor....

RE: LIPO QUESTION. PLEASE ANSWER

Technically, all of the cells are Lithium Ion. They are further defined as Lithium Magnesium, Lithium Fe...etc. The A123 cells are the most robust...able to handle higher discharge rates and...

RE: LIPO QUESTION. PLEASE ANSWER

That is a good rule, though now some of the best batteries can be charged as high as 2C (like the Kokam cells.)

RE: Hitting 80 mph!?!?

That would work great. On the cheap a Fiegao XL motor...say a 6XL or 7XL powered by a MambaMax and a 3S or 4S pack (with external BEC) and you will have wayyyyy more power than you can handle. Put...

RE: OFFICIAL Team Losi Micro-T thread !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Many petroleum based lubes can soften and damage plastic parts. You should use lubricants made for plastics. All hobbie shops sell little containers of grease and lubricant specifically for lubing...

RE: First RC car

If the surface is a little bit rough, like you say, you could have serious problems with a touring car. They don't have a lot of ground clearance...even "jacked up." You would be better off with a...

RE: Why not Brushless?

That is still "fixed" timing. You can adjust it anyway you want, but it will then be fixed at that setting. A timing that is ideal for high speed is bad for lower speeds...in fact, if you over...

RE: Why not Brushless?

I noticed something else recently, not sure if it is just with Castle's latest firmware. When rolling backwards slowly sometimes, like if the car does a spin and drifts backwards, hitting the...

RE: Why not Brushless?

Brushed will have it's place in low end cheap systems and for nostalgic people....the types that like messing with carburetors. Surely, you don't think carburetors are in any way superior to fuel...

RE: Why not Brushless?

This is somewhat true with Mamba based systems....but I've found Novak's sensored to be every bit as smooth in power delivery as a brushed. To be more accurate it takes about 10 revolutions for the...

RE: Why not Brushless?

Actually, brushless is the master of all. A brushless doesn't have to be mechanically designed for one purpose. The timing is in the ESC so it can be designed for low torque and high speed and...

RE: CHEAP BRUSHLESS ???

as thaphillips mentioned, the 380 is a smaller motor. It doesn't have the capacity of a 540 motor. The 380 brushless is about equivalent to a stock 540 brushed. You will need to go with a smaller...

RE: Why not Brushless?

The hype is true. The drag and top speed records are all owned by brushless. With a properly sized brushless speed controller and motor your limitation is always the current the batteries can...

RE: Sportwerks Recoil 1/14

Other than wheels and body, what setup changes did you make to the recoil for drifting?

RE: CHEAP BRUSHLESS ???

Nemesis are Fiegaos in a different can color. Mambas are as well...with some "reinforcements"...ie...endbell retainer screws. The Feigaos are great value motors. There are more efficient and...

RE: Help me choose the right charger

Yes, definitely upgrade to a NiMh peak charger. You might also consider the Duratrax Piranha. It is, at $50 bucks, one of the best values in a NiMh charger...and it has a fair bit of adjustability...

RE: Best cheap batteries out there?

I've had good luck with these inexpensive batteries from Ebay. I bought them in a pair but they are slightly cheaper to buy 4.

RE: Cheap Battery Packs Brushless compared to MAMBA

The mah is important because it determines the maximum amperage the battery can deliver. If you go over that amperage the voltage will drop and you can even damage the battery. Most of the better...

RE: The Chinese Knockoffs: Post info, opinions, reviews of "copy-cat" cars.

Posted in official thread, but here are my results with $90 Himoto Nascada.

Car is heavier than typical TC and 200mm wide (nitro size) vs. 190mm (electric size TC.) Could be an issue if someone...

RE: RC18B question, general 1/18th scale help

Aluminum parts are usually just bling items. They may not break but they will bend and they will also transfer more load into other items...causing them to break...and yes, they do generally weigh...

RE: Mamba max 5700 v.s. Novak

People have been successfully powering 1/8th scale buggies with Mambas, 4S and 5S packs and external BECs. The key is to gear wayyyyy down to reduce the torque, and subsequent current draw of the...

RE: Mamba max 5700 v.s. Novak

I recall in the top speed challenge Novak said they wrecked their ESC. I wonder if it was because they were pushing them with a 3S.

From what I've read, the real issue, at least with Mamba's,...

Not sure if that was directed at me but lest I be misunderstood, I appreciate what Mr. Novak and Mr. del Castillo have brought to the RC world. Starting a business, and keeping it going is a heck of...
