RE: Saito 82a Ceramic Bearing Failure

Thanks for the ideas. I managed to get it out with a gear puller. I had to grind the hooks to fit in the groove.

RE: Saito 82a Ceramic Bearing Failure

So are you saying you can't just use a press on the front of the crankshaft? If I need those tools, I'll probably send it back to Horizon.

RE: Saito 82a Ceramic Bearing Failure

How do I remove the tapered collet and the drive flange on my Saito 150? They seem to be VERY tight. I'm trying to replace the bearings in it.

I'm looking for 12 oz balsa plane

I have a Himax 2015-4100 brushless and it needs a plane. I'm done with foam and would like to try balsa. I can do a kit, scratch, or ARF, doesn't matter. Something around 32" and 12oz would be good....

RE: 'Old' Cessna

The early Cessna 210 Centurion's had wing struts which disappeared in the late 60's. They also made a fixed gear version called the Stationair. Power was 315hp or 300hp in the turbocharged model. ...

Where to find YS110 or Saito 125

I'm looking for a big 4-stroke for my T-34 which is almost finished. Does anyone have the YS110 or Saito 125 in stock. I'd sure like to find a new one!

Thanks,
Tom

RE: Top-Flite T-34

I have mine ready to install an engine but I'm still wondering what to use. Does the RCV fit with a stock muffler? I have the Robarts installed so I need a muffler that around them. I like the YS...

RE: Synthetic oil performance gain?

I've been wrong before, but I can't believe a 200 rpm power increases could be the result of the oil mixture. The need to adjust mixture because of oil seems strange also.

RE: hirobo freya

I suppose you've already checked to see if you inadvertantly put a mix on the hold switch. My Freya comes down fine. My technique is to have some forward speed so the nose is already down. I always...

RE: GP 1/3 330L servos & engine???

I use the big Hitec 5735 on rudder and just one 5645 per aileron. It depends somewhat on how much travel you want. As you add travel, the load increases and the mechanical advantage of the servo is...

RE: Heli Motor

I thought it was already built. He has a picture of it right there in front of the little house. Maybe you can lift 3lb for $300, I'm not sure. How much you got?

RE: Tail Fins why bother??

Lots of guys take the horizontal fin off. The vertical fin is needed to protect the tail blades. For backwards flying, you want as little tail area as possible.

RE: Heli Motor

I'd be happy to help, do you need someone to fly it? How much weight are you planning to lift?

RE: Remote Glow Clip Does anyone know why?

Are you using a glow starter attached to a power panel? Mine did that too. The small clip on igniters seem to not cause this.

RE: OS 32 Engine Glow Plug

I've always used the cheapest plugs I could find, sometimes even used ones off the ground. Never had any trouble. I don't recommend this, but I sure don't understand all the excitement about...

RE: Frustration beyond belief

Just how cold was it? Below 40 degrees, it is harder to get them to fire. Holding your finger over the exhaust helps prime it and is often useful.

RE: Replacing batteries on the ignition system

I'm always surprised to see people spend big bucks on carbon to save a few ounces, then install the biggest battery they can find to avoid charging. What's the world coming to? I have an 1100 mAh...

RE: The unthinkable happened yesterday.....

Very good question. The aerodynamics of RC and full size are identical. How could they be differant? How could the air molecules know if the pilot is inside the plane or standing on the ground? If...

RE: GP giant xtra 300L

I'm very happy the way my flies with a ZDZ 80. You'll save some money too. Changing the control surface hinge line would not be easy because of the way the kit is designed.

RE: embedded flight computer for autonomous helicopter

The original space shuttle had less computer power than the original IBM PC. I would start with that and add more as necessary.

RE: r /c INTERFERENCE ?

Your setup is not uncommon at all. Heavy duty extensions will minimize power loss in the long extensions. Do a range check with the engine running as a final test and go fly.

RE: New to ZDZ 80 Questions

I can answer some of your questions. I broke my engine in with the same 26x10 Bambula prop that I have been running ever since. It seems to work well. As far as the balls, I used them and they...
