By memory it was something like 12.5 lbs.- that thing was a tank.
The Saito would hover it, but there wasn't enough extra power to try it at low level.

I set my radio up to use the flaperon...

I built one in this size as a tail dragger with a Saito 180 FS back in 2003.

Mine was very heavy, but still flew very well.

You will like this plane.

Best of luck.

Converting *.PDF files to *.bmp, *.tiff, etc.

After coming back to the hobby after a 15 year absence I have found that there are a vast number of
model plans out on the net. Most of the sites like Outerzone and AeroFred use the *.pdf format.

Locating DLE tachometers?

I've been out of the hobby for many years.

I see that the newer gas engines have the option for an onboard
tachometer read out. I've seen a few pictures where the readout
was placed inside the...

Resurrecting an old ZDZ 60RV?

I have an old ZDZ 60RV that has been in storage for about 13 years.

I ran the engine dry and oiled it when I put it away. It turns freely
and doesn't feel gritty.

I already ordered a carb...

RE: El Gringo from RCM plans?

Thanks for taking the time to check the dimensions for me.

I used a set of calipers on the magazine plans and found the side view was indeed a little longer than wing planform. It probably got...

RE: Engine Test Stand

I built this as a permanent stand for the club field.

All a member needed was his own piece of 3/4" ply that had the mount for his engine attached to it. My small engine plate had four...

RE: Any one build a 50cc kaos?

I looked at this a few years ago after I built a 180 FS powered S. Kaos (75" WS).

As I recall the original SK wing thickness was 19% at the root and 17% at the tip.

I drew up a set of CAD...

RE: Pfofessional Cut by Sarpolus??

I've never cut or covered foam cores before.

The wing is still just an outline, really. I don't need quite so many ribs and the tip blocks could be much thinner.

I need to find my old file...

RE: Pfofessional Cut by Sarpolus??

When I redrew the plan some years ago I drew it with the ZDZ 60cc in mind.

I would want to build up the wing, and have it in two pieces if possible.

I would keep the foam core tail...

I worked up a set of CAD plans for a pitch gauge from that article some years ago. I still have them if you need a copy of the files.

RE: Super Kaos 90??

The aft fuselage is extremely strong if you used the material call outs as I drew it. Most of the load in any fuselage is in the corners, not in the center of the sides or top and bottom. You could...
