RE: Rudder on the Right Stick

I've flown mode 1 for almost 25 years. I taught myself mode 2 about 8 years ago. I can also fly the other modes. Interestingly enough, when at fly-ins I regularly switch back and forth all day...

RE: Is It time to delete the weight limit in Pattern?

RE: Mission Impossible? Putting a pattern plane on a diet?

I'm actually writing up something for the K-Factor right now about how I dropped my Nats bird from 11lbs 7.6ozs down to 10lbs 13ozs in 3 days....[sm=eek.gif] I hope someone will benefit from it.....

RE: Is It time to delete the weight limit in Pattern?

Dave, it was good to meet you as well!

You're definitely right about the idea that you can fill a 2mx2m square with a lot of airplane, and bipes definitely add to the possibilities. I'm...

RE: Is It time to delete the weight limit in Pattern?

Interesting question, and one that you could perpetually ask regardless of the resulting answer each time....

Raise the weight and people will just build to that higher weight. Drop the max...

RE: 2008 US Nationals

The next version may have just that setup on it. The setup I used initially was the same setup that Chuck Hochhalter used last year to take 3rd in intermediate. I based my design on that setup and...

RE: 2008 US Nationals

Its amazing to me that the Nats has already been over for a week...........

As I mentioned earlier in this thread, this was my first NATS and quite literally a realization of a lifelong dream. ...

RE: 2008 US Nationals

Well, this week has been typical. AMA pattern competition is new to me, but competition is most certainly not. Like every contest I've participated in, I've spent this preceding week struggling to...

My 08 Nats story is a bit odd...... and this is a long post, so skip to the next one if you don't like to read boring drivel.......

I've been flying RC for a good long...

RE: Team OMP Presents the Boxxer ARF!

RTN, stick to the CG in the instructions and you'll be fine. Should be around 1" to 3/4" in front of the trailing edge of the top wing at the centerline. A little forward of that won't hurt it...

Graham, oddly enough, I have an old 1/2 A speed pan drilled and tapped for a TD .049....

I'm really not sure however about shipping to Canada....

G&Z .049

Well, I needed a bit of fun at the house, but could not leave.. (baby daughter was napping inside...[sm=teeth_smile.gif]) So I broke down and pulled out the G&Z .049 I bought at the Toledo show a few...

RE: 42" Boxxer

Honestly, I think both of your suggested motors will be less than you need for good performance.

The OS .50SX, .55AX, Webra .50 or Irvine .53 would all be good choices. For 4 stroke power, I'd...

RE: Has anyone tried doing this?

No advantage at all.. Profiles are about using drag, not reducing drag. Leave the leading and trailing edges of the tail square and bevel the hingelines only.

RE: NORVEL News (bad news)

I spent some time in Toledo with one of the Sig guys and he commented that Norvel had dried up and that they were effectively done with them.

RE: 3/4A PROFILE !!!

Pig, the .074 is what I eventually settled on for the best power for my Edgeling. Fun little setup. My personal suggestion would be to try to keep it under 15ozs. My 14 oz Edgeling with the .074...
