RE: Looking for a speedster

I have two Douglas Aviation Breezes. I've flown one extensively, as recently as last weekend. The other is 95% complete (install ailerons, install elevator pushrod); I'm somewhat hesitant to let go...

RE: Seagull Models EP Extra 300

It actually sounds like too much up-thrust, not too much down-thrust. Is it possible that you glued the motor mount box to the firewall upside down? I think the motor should point a little down and...

RE: Help identify this plane

I'll have to take that last one back. Looks like the specs I found were for the 1/5th Pica kit, and, judging from some other pics on the net, this probably is the Pica 1/6th kit.

Thanks guys.

RE: Help identify this plane

I'm not too sure about this being the Cox ARF or Pica kit. The only specs I could find show the wingspan of the Cox T-28 as 78.75".

Also, the wing and fuse are built up balsa and lite-ply. ...

Help identify this plane

I picked up this T-28 at a hobby shop over the weekend for just $125 with everything included: OS .65 LA Blue, Futaba S3004 servos, and a Futaba R127-DF receiver.

It's wingspan is 62" and...

RE: GLOW or Electric debate.....Who won?

You should look into a sim called Clearview. You can download it and evaluate it via the free 2hour trial period, and the license (with free lifetime upgrades!) is only $40. You still have to buy a...

RE: LiPo battery size => flight duration?

If your just looking for additional flight duration like the thread title says, don't increase the voltage. Use a 3s battery larger than 1300mAh, such as a 3s 1500mAh or a 3s 1800mAh lipo. Heck...

RE: I have wind.........

I had an Aerobird challenger a while ago, and I flew it in winds that were gusting up to 15mph plenty of times. By the time I was brave enough to try it in the wind, I had been flying the ABC for...

RE: 9 chp vs. 9 cap any difference????

Download the manual here: http://www.futaba-rc.com/manuals/manual-9c.html. There's a note on the bottom of page 13 mentioning that a few switches on the top are moved around between the two models. ...

Nudity on RCU Videos

Mods, there's a "Pamela Anderson Sex Scene" video on RCU Videos that needs to be removed. It was featured on the front page of RCUniverse in the 'RC Videos' section that changes every second. ...

RE: Seagull Models EP Extra 300

Installing the 35-36-1200 added an ounce to my AUW, and it's now at 33oz. I'm currently using an APC 10x5E propeller, and it uses about 350 watts of power from a Thunder Power Extreme 2070 11.1V...

RE: Seagull Models EP Extra 300

I tried a Scorpion 3008-28 in mine and it worked very well. Almost identical performance to the Great Planes Rimfire 35-30-1250 I had in it previously, but the Scorpion stayed a little cooler. I...

RE: Dog Fights back on?

I completely agree. My 5yo and 2yo sons probably would too, they sit quietly and watch every episode with me.

I'm glad it's back on, but a new episode every day this week? I'll have to check the dvr schedule again to see if there are anymore new episodes coming up next week, which I hope there are. I kinda...

60" Scratch Telemaster Stabilizer question

Yep, 60". I decided to scratch build one midway between the Mini and Electro versions HL offers. Plans and a build log will be on my website, airplanenut.net.

My only hanging question about...

RE: Magnets for Hatches

I've had times where magnet-magnet connections were too strong, and I'd almost crush part of the airframe with the force it took to open the canopy/hatch. Sometimes a magnet on one side and a washer...

RE: FM Vs. PCM

That's not correct. The PCM version is selectable between PCM or PPM (FM) modulation.

I wonder if the 9CAF and 9CHF are actually on 8-channel radios... The 9th channel on my 9CAP is only...

RE: scorpion 3020-12 from rimfire?

I think the Scorpion's 3008-32 or 3008-28 would be a little closer in size and weight (3.02 oz), but a little more powerful (400 watts compared to the Rimfire's 300 watts continuous).

Another possibility in the winter is seaplanes. They takeoff and land very well relatively smooth snow.

If you fly electric, just be sure to keep your batteries warm; either by insulating...

RE: 30 minutes flight time from my Super Sportster EP!

When running packs in parallel, I've always thought it's best to use identical packs: size, brand, age, internal resistance. The 15C and 20C packs will have different internal resistances. The 15C...

9CAP Programming question

Can flapperons be used with a 4 channel receiver? (ch1-Aileron1, ch2-Elevator, ch3-Throttle, ch4-Aileron2?)
