RE: A123Racing Battery Questions

The Xtrema charger looks very nice, but does not balance cells. Are others aware of general-purpose chargers that handle the A123 cells *and* offer balancing (either built-in, or through an...

RE: Cellpro 4s Balancing Charger

Hi Greg,

If it hasn't already gone to press, you may want to check out two seeming internal discrepancies in the manual.

1. The "charger specifications" section says that balancing is...

RE: Cellpro 4s Balancing Charger

Hi Greg,

In another post, Fred Marks listed the features of the charger, and includes this note:

>> 20) Can be directly tied with the West Mountain discharger for complete cell by cell...

RE: Cellpro 4s Balancing Charger

Hi Greg and Fred,

A few questions about the soon-to-be-released 4-cell charger:

What is the maximum output wattage?

Does it discharge or cycle at all?

Can you explain what it...

RE: AFPD - First Impressions

Don,

Note he is using the Commander version, was the "is it warm" comment directed to that version?

I also have the Commander and find that I have to recalibrate every time I fly. Not too...

RE: Sailplane flaps

This is great information guys, thanks. I am using the Game Commander that comes with AFPD (my real TX is a Profi 3030). There is a "knob" which currently works "on/off" for me, but another member...

Sailplane flaps

One reason I got the simulator (AFPD) is to learn to do things with sailplanes I haven't done in real life yet. Like use flaps.

What do you use "flaps up" for? "flaps down"? I currently have...

RE: Reflex / Aerofly / Dongle Question? :)

I have one of the first AFPD "game commander" (controller) versions that shipped in this country. I can tell you that right from the start, there has been no dongle issue with the commander version...

RE: AFPD Commander Version

Any cable that works with FMS will work. You need to leave the Commander plugged in while you use the FMS cable, for copy-protection reasons. There are a number of vendors of FMS cable vendors to...

RE: All backorder Commanders shipping

Jerry,

Thanks for the input. Can you mention a specific plane you got it working with? I'll start with that one, just so I know I'm doing one that can work.

RE: Help Me Build an AFPD Box

I'll second the Newegg recommendation. I work for a tech company, we often buy from Newegg when we can't get things from our usual channels.

They won't assemble for you, though, you'll just get...

RE: All backorder Commanders shipping

Regarding the knob on top: on my system it just acts like an on/off switch. When I turn it, nothing happens until a certain point, then it switches the other way. I ended up moving flaps to the...

RE: delta wings

Marwen, I'll point out that AFPD doesn't come with ZAGI out of the box. Dafid must have downloaded those examples. Which is fine, I expect they are free downloads and he can tell you where he got...

RE: Follow aircraft, and cockpit mode

GCL is right, try a few different sceneries. You will see it works in some (3D) and not in others (photo-realistic). All sceneries were 3D in AFP, so cockpit mode worked in all of them.

RE: Glider tweaking?

Hi,

Not sure I understand how to adjust incidence. Both the main wing and the elevator allow one to set incidence. where should I start?

Glider tweaking?

Hi,

I put a post in a while back on the main forum, and no answer yet, I'll try again here.

I'm hoping someone can give me advice on how to "trim" the AFPD gliders. They seem squirrelly to...

RE: TX for XTR/AFPD

AFPD is available in a "Commander" version that includes a controller, similar to G3.

You can also use your TX, if you get an FMS cable separately.

RE: Beginner looking for a sim

The "cheap controller" idea is popular here, even among those who have their own TX. It protects your "real" TX from getting banged up. You can get used TXs (without flight packs) pretty cheap, $40...

RE: video card choice for AFPD

I talked with lots of computer geeks, and they convinced me that a faster card with 128mb is better than a slower card with 256mb.

If you can stretch your budget a bit, try getting an ATI Radeon...

AFPD Sailplanes

OK, I've been flying this for a couple of weeks. Mainly the Milan. Right now in Omenhausen. Some questions for others:

1. Are the sailplanes trimmed funny, or is it just me? I found the...

RE: afpd vs other sim

Hi Franky,

We're in the wrong part of the world for gliders! (At least for thermal gliders).

There is a pretty active discussion of converting AFP (the older version) and Reflex XTR...

RE: afpd vs other sim

Good point, and G3 comes with 6 I believe. It would be nice if AFPD came "out of the box" with more gliders pre-installed.

However, at most (depending what you count as a glider) there are 1 or...

RE: afpd vs other sim

Franky,

One more thought. For your questions about "which is better for 3D, AFPD or G3?" -- I suggest you do some reading/searching through the old posts in this forum. It's been completely...
