GCL is right, try a few different sceneries. You will see it works in some (3D) and not in others (photo-realistic). All sceneries were 3D in AFP, so cockpit mode worked in all of them.

AFPD is available in a "Commander" version that includes a controller, similar to G3.

You can also use your TX, if you get an FMS cable separately.
