Yes, 40mm flaps is good but i think it can do well to slow even more. Will try more flaps for the landing. With 40mm flaps, speed was still a bit on the high side. Was holding it off the ground 1...2...

Managed to get mine flown on Sunday.

Weight in at 19.6lbs with a P70.

Did 2 flights.

First flight with the CG set 10mm back from the middle of the main wing spar. Ailerons was 15mm....

Use the same setting as Eric Banner's Hawk. Flys well on it. More then enough control throws and yet not too sensitive. I have mine on 50% expo by the way.

You will need to trim off the side of the wood mountings to get the engine to fit.

Also the air intake will also need to be cut shorter. It will fit a P80

I manage 2 flight on my JL hawk few days back as well. Seems to be shaping up to be a good plane.

Both flights landing came in fast...but lucky I had plenty of expo on my elevators and manage...

I have a P80 installed in the JL hawk as well. Just maiden it 2 days ago.

Plane weight is 9.5kg with empty tanks and full UAT. Need to trim some wood from the mount to get it to fit. Not a big...

Plane was originally fitted with a PST600...5.5kg thrust. Plane was 9.3kg...

If you are using the clear 6mm and 4mm tubing. Its easier. The 4mm tube have a OD that fits nice and tight into the 6mm ID.

Just asking whats the copper fitting that is joining the 6mm fuel line from the UAT to the pump?

Is that a 6mm to 4mm joint. If it is, you can could do away with the copper fitting...

There is a tie point at the front of the forward radio tray. I have my 2 radio pack and the ECU pack there. thats the only way I could get the CG at the 120mm mark.
