Well, that is basically the same info that I've got. The only thing missing are the templates. Pretty easy to make up though.

RE: Hippo Tipo help!

Believe it or not, that plane will come out weighing less than the 60 size Tipo (at least in my case) - Depending on where you live, the Hanno should handle it. You can always put a BX 1.08 in it...

RE: Hippo Tipo help!

Well, of course, planning on a complete outfitting. I was thinking of a YS91 for the power w/pipe + spring air on the retracts. I'll mount sideways with the pipe running the the pipe tunnel (like...

RE: Hippo Tipo help!

Paul, these are perfect for me! Many-many thanks - this is plenty fine to get me going on the tail feathers for sure! On your pics of the firewall - are they 2-piece or is that an optical illusion?...

Hello Pitstop - Thanks, I'll post some pics - not much to see there, but an ugly half baked job on the Hippo - The wing and stab are sheeted and glassed (the paint job stinks - but I can fix that). ...

RE: composite arf yak?

BaldEagle - your picture looks pretty much like what I saw in the manual, with the hole in the control arm located above the gap - but I don't believe that it is the right location. Shouldn't the...

RE: composite arf yak?

The issue that I'm seeing right now is two-fold. a) from the pictures in the CA manual - the hinges are way too far forward, that is, the centerline on the hinge point do not line up with the...

RE: composite arf yak?

OK, all of you CA Yak experts. I have this previously owned 2.6m Yak and I don't think that the aileron/elevator horn locations are quite correct. Does anyone out there have templates for this? ...

Bax, thanks for the reply (I truly do). I understand the party line, but I have to say with great respect that the new formulation is decidedly not "as good as it has ever been". I have been...

RE: Monokote - not like it used to be

I've tried all temps (that are practical). The 12 rolls (that I got this past summer) I got is hard to work with. I've tried practice pieces - just doesn't like to stick or shrink for that matter.

Monokote - not like it used to be

I'm currently covering a 33% Extra330L with monokote in a Red Bull Scheme. I absolutely must say that Monokote isn't near as good as it used to be - what's up with that? I've spent literally...

RE: Ultrasport 1000 - debugging help.

Yikes! I would have thought that an Eastern Bloc motor would have been less that an OS (most motors are). Or maybe I just have a tough time spending more than 2 digits for a 2 stroke motor.

RE: Ultrasport 1000 - debugging help.

I might have to look into a Moki - not as popular where I am, and the LHS's definitely don't carry them. I do know one guy that has one, and he really likes his. So you all are thinking about a 1.5...

RE: Ultrasport 1000 - debugging help.

Thanks Jim, I forgot to mention that I do have a pipe on it now, so maybe there's more work to do - Yikes! How, exactly, can you tell whether or not "I'm on the pipe".

On the CG, I remeasured...
