RE: Transall C-160

Hi,

As you have seen, many different combo's yet the plane flies. It needs to fly fairly fast, and lands a bit hot (hold the flare!), but I still enjoy mine.

RE: Transall C-160

Hey Al,

It is hard to believe that the thread has a life of it's own! If you fly a Transall, you can fly anything!!!

Wishing you all the BEST in 2008!!!!

RE: Transall C-160

Hey TP,

Don't let the somewhat bad luck that all of us have had with this plane spoil your fun. I am on #3, read earlier posts for the full story. I really love the plane, seriously. CHECK the...

RE: Transall C-160

Hi Jerry,

I have been flying the C-160's for couple of years now, and still enjoy them. My favorite are from CMP, better quality than WillHobby, just for the record.

RE: Options for swollen Li-po cell?

Hi Vince,

My advice is to get rid of the pack, period, as all cells were heated to that temp, and the weakest one failed first, the others will follow soon enough. If it is too hard to think...

RE: One large lipo vs two smaller in Parallel?

Hi,

Also, if one huge pack goes bad, you are stuck. Having your own parallel packs that you setup are a better way to go if you have the room. It makes a world of difference to me as I fly...

Hey Gang,

Just wanted to wish you all a Merry Christmas and THE BEST in 2007!

I am leaving tonight for Reno, to catch up with son #2, and skiing at Tahoe, then back to Colorado, so nothing...

RE: Transall C-160

Hey Al,

Since when did the C-160 get boring???? ;). I am going to take a photo of my storage loft at school, with four C-160's NIB's, along with a host of others...

I am looking at the...

RE: Transall C-160

Hello Dave,

The C-160 is no trainer, and you should be aware that it flies and lands a bit hot. You should be flying it, at the beginning, with someone that has decent stick-skills. The battery...

RE: Transall C-160

Hi Al,

Yup, I'm nuts too! :D

Got only one flight in today with the C-160, just too hard on the body. I kept the batteries warm in my car, right up until hook-up time. It was 8*F at the...

RE: Transall C-160

Al,

I just got through reading the P-61 build thread - wow, a lot work and money going into that one, and the 2nd B-25...you do more than okay with the tax business, but I'm sure it really is...

RE: Transall C-160

Al,

Did you end up getting another C-160 off Ebay? The auction prices have been in the $100.00 range plus shipping, still a deal. Not the C-130 that you are getting, but still a quick build.

RE: Transall C-160

Robert,

Sounds like you should have plenty of power. Mine uses about 250-300 watts total in-flight. You need to check the wing to horz stab incidence, as most (not all) of the main wings on...

RE: B-17 electric conversion help

Hi Chevronflyer,

I run Master Airscrew three blade 9x7 on my OV-10 Bronco (counter-rotating) and C-47, and three blade 10x7 on my C-160 Transall. They are very good, thin and stiff. Stay away...

Anyway, the cheaper C-160's being sold on Ebay are from WillHobby (www.willhobby.com) in, you guessed it, China! So, the knock-offs are...
