RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

Sachin, the OMP Katana is seductive. I didn't like it the first time I flew it (It wasn't a Twist, see). Then I fell in love--and that bird is 10 times more durable than the Twist. Search the forums...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

Dutch, the OS .50SX works fine with the standard, provided engine mount for the Twist. Before you drill holes, just rubber band mount the engine and check for your favorite balance point, then drill...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

557, please, PLEASE, don't impress DTs with your professional work. If HE likes it, he'll do the same thing, then I'LL have to do it.

And we're so, so happy you have reestablished yourself and...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

Ah, I got on line again. Hope all's well with youse guys. Sounds good. Nice job, Hobie.

I only have the 330 and the Hirundo with me, but I've been able to fly 'em every day with the Cloudbusters...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

Waldo, you're breakin' my heart, not being able to fly. Just take a plastic bag, put it over the radio (you never look at it in flight anyway), and fly! The Twist won't mind. I've done it...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

I don't have to leave for a couple days, so I can keep reading you Twistoholics and giggle, and laugh, and cry.

Chris, I loved your story. Still laughing. But you brought her home. That's "aces"...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

Yeah, Waldo, and tell me you don't miss the smell of dope and that glue. I do. LOL

Jim Dines: Ditto. If you're gonna crash, do it right, for heaven's sake.

DTs and I got in a couple flights...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

Hobie, we've ALL crashed the Twist, even Ghee-grose (knocking wheels off counts, Gary). Hard to joke. I would like to have seen you twist that box trying to recover, though.

Lesson: stay to...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

DTs, nice picture of Duluth, harbor, sailor, and bikinis, thanks. Good camera.

I SHOULD have told you to find the local flying field. They have a couple in Duluth, by the way. You could have...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

Down, ask if the LHS has one of those anti-bubble clunks, made by OS, I think, but any will do. I just want one. I know I need another prop, too, but I can't think which one. Will you intuit for me?...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

Yeah, Prop, we're a sorry bunch, seeing our Twists drip. Now, DTs, all heart, would tell you exactly WHY that Saito was dripping oil (too much AFO), then he would define the oil, by atom, indicate...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

Eric, see pic below of my high-tech balancer. It cost the price of a small Porche, but there's a life-time guarantee that comes with it. The rubber tips on the 3/8ths dowels are from the protectors...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

Down, let the flying gods keep us from counting our passion in dollars and cents. Rather let us count the depth of those cumulus clouds abuilding, or the texture of eagle fingers measuring the...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

Gaw, Tim, you should have seen him adding weight to the NOSE to get that Impress to balance. And first he changed a battery position to far forward. Not enough. That bird's supposed to have an...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

557, I've never measured my throws, but they are as much as the HD Dubro long arms, hole furthest out, and the standard Hangar 9 horn, furthest hole in, can get me. The rudder only barely clears the...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

Yes, Eric, I left the plane just as it suggested, for the placement of bat and receiver. I have NO idea why the planes should come out so differently for CG--perhaps our methods for determining CG.

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

Review of the Twist PNP, Evolution .46NT package:

I received the PNP yesterday at two pm. It was in the air by 1:30 pm today (might have been earlier except for charging the 700mAh bat that...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

Hobie, congratulations, great that you love the Twist. Rick, one of our flying buddies, has an OS AX and is using the 12.25 x 3.75 APC prop. He loves it. He also has a re-built Twist with a Super...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

Eric, I have found Twist drivers are just a tad wiser, more clever than the run of the mill "speeder." So don't speed up the Twist, just stand on the line with those fellows. They HAVE to come back...

RE: Goldberg Ex-Treme Edge 540 ARF

Gutz, you have to be VERY careful about what you read on line. Few folks give their background, experience, time in air with a bird they may criticize (having a bird for "a month" means nothing if...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

Ak, if the Yak-54, the big one, flies anything like the one they have on RealFlight G3, the Twist is NOT a good prep plane. The Yak flies more like a bipe, needing lots of airspeed, seeems to stall...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

The wind is your friend with a Twist, with any bird, actually. Everything slows down but take-offs and down wind legs. Just watch fuel consumption.

I saw Down put his Twist on the snow, running...
