Guys

Last weekend I went to the model shop with strong intention to buy a TF P51 .60 kit.
Because the P51's were gone, I've ended up having a box with P40 in my hands.
I'm thinking of building...

As I've mentioned earlier, I've got this model from a colleague.

No idea, why he did install the engine like that.
The only reason, that comes to my mind is that there's a tuned pipe installed...

RE: Building a Dynaflite Super Decathlon

Regardign the covering - now I would definitelly go with Koverall (as I did with SIG Spacewalker 1/3). It requires more work, but it's indestructible :)
My Decathlon was covered using Oracover

RE: Building a Dynaflite Super Decathlon

RE: Building a Dynaflite Super Decathlon

Bill, do you plan to install tail struts too?
It's not required, but since the tail isn't profiled, I felt more secured with struts.
In addition, I was using this plane as a tow tug and struts...

RE: Building a Dynaflite Super Decathlon

Hi Bill

Yes, I'm still here, although not all the time.
If I remember correctly, my fuel tank was o.75 or 0.9l and I was able to fly and fly and fly and.... ;)
Yes, I did the mod of landing...

RE: Building a Dynaflite Super Decathlon

Well, in fact, covering didn't adhered to the whole construction anyway, so there was rather no difference. Ok, it was bit more tail heavy, but with our motors it's not a big issue.
As I remember,...

RE: Building a Dynaflite Super Decathlon

Bill, I see you do the engine mount "my way" so far ;)
Using alu plate helps with balance (heavier, and bigger than suggested by manufacturer engine too).

You have bigger openning at the...

Here they're (there were carbon tubes added later for better reinforce).

RE: Sig 1/3 Spacewalker

Mine is ab. 20lbs and flies with ZDZ60 with 24x8 prop (it's a towing tug for gliders).
I can cruise around at ab. 1/3 throttle.
It flies very scale like. If I would like to have a more exciting...

RE: Sig 1/3 Spacewalker

I've just finished the paint job (car paint over Sig's Koverall).
I'm not completely happy with result, but.... it's not that bad at all :)
Now, I'm installing RC and the rest.
