RE: Phoenix Extra 300S

Thanks a lot guys. I guess we'll have to grab a 12x4 next time we're at the hobby shop!

RE: Phoenix Extra 300S

Thanks I really appreciate that! As a matter of fact, we may get the Extra up this weekend if the rain holds off.

RE: Phoenix Extra 300S

Glad to hear that everything went well! It's sure is a fun plane to fly and it looks good in the air too! Try a knife edge pass...they look beautiful!

Just a quick question, what prop are you...

RE: Phoenix Extra 300S

My brother has the .46 AX in his. I think it has plenty of power for scale/aerobatic flying. Of course the verticals are not unlimited, but there's plenty of power to get you out of trouble if you...

RE: BME Cap Maniac or Aeroworks Edge 540T

Hi Mark,
I don't personally have any experience with either of these companies, but I just wanted to point out that there is a review for the Maniac in the magazine section. Here's the link......

RE: Phoenix Extra 300S

You're going to love it. I've flown my brother's a couple of times and its a great plane. *I* think his landings are a little fast, but he claims it will stall otherwise. I would recommend that...

RE: No Power?

Just to make sure...when you increase the throttle you see the air intake open up right?

RE: No Power?

Is this the first time you have this particular engine running or have these problems just developed?

3-blade prop

If I'm using a 12x6 prop now and I want to go to a 3-blade prop what do I get? Is there some easy conversion? I've never tried using a 3-blade before so I have no clue what to expect. Thanks in...

RE: Phoenix Extra 300S

Luis_Julie,
The plane went together very smoothly. There were just two slight bumps in the process: 1) cutting the cowling (of course) and 2) Installing the control system for the rudder and...

RE: Super Decathlon

Sorry you're getting frustrated. I'd have to agree that the Decathlon is not a beginner plane, but with a little bit of care, you can handle it.

The first recommendation I have is to put your...

RE: Engine for 4 Star 40

I'm using the .72 on my Four Star and it's a blast to fly. If the .82 has the same case, I'd seriously consider that. Nobody says you *have* to use all the extra power!

RE: Super Decathlon

Is it the ParkZone Super Decathlon? If so, let me know and I'll give you some suggestions.

RE: Minimizing control surface throw

Ok, that makes sense. So the idea is if you move the rods to the inner holes, the effects of "slop" in the system become more pronounced. The ultimate effect is a lack of precision.

So is...

RE: Minimizing control surface throw

CGRetired,
I'm slightly confused...how will this lead to a reduction in the resolution? If anything, I would think it would increase the resolution. I understand how changing the end points...

RE: 40 or 60

I have a 40 with a Saito 72 in it and it's a blast to fly. It's definitely overpowered (take-offs in 13 feet) but there's nothing that says you have to fly at full throttle. As for balancing, I...

RE: Four Star 60 Build...The Saga Begins

What exactly is the after market linkage? I need to get a Saito 72 into a 4*40 but I'm running into the same problems as MounteineerFan. I looked at Tower but I couldn't find anything.

The only reason I didn't want to use the solder clevis is because I heard that they are prone to failure. However, it seems like you guys have had nothing but success with them so maybe I'll try...

Solder Clevis

What is a good replacement for a solder clevis? I'm assembling a 4* arf and I don't think I want to use the equipment supplied for the ailerons (solder clevis). I have a pushrod that is threaded...

RE: Replacement transmitter antenna for 7cap?

According to Tower Hobbies, you can use that antenna for both systems. I like your idea of calling Futaba to check though. You can never be too careful. These systems are designed with very...

RE: what to do beginer here.

It's kind of funny that you corrected nitro when you're using incorrect grammar also! Not picking on you...just pointing out a little humor/irony.
It's actually they're. ;)
