UPDATE:

I've now finished the transmission. Everything runs very nicely. It is geared at about 6:1, and has no diff. Next I am going to start working on the front end.

DV, the drive shafts and cups are the same as those made for the HSP 1/5th scale buggy. I got all the parts off ebay.
Just search for the part numbers 50034,...

Im guessing your engine is a half-crank design (pullstart at the front, on the side of the output shaft). They are lightweight, and reasonably powerful engines BUT, they are not the best choice for...

Thanks for showing me that thread! Its given me a bunch of ideas. I love the bracket you made for holding the steel rod in the lathe. Might have to borrow that...
