RE: Pacific Aeromodels Edge 540T 40/70

Well that post seems to have shut this thread down.
Abuanas' comment may well help people who are thinking of dealing with Modellex. Not everybody lives in the states.

Finallly pulling mine...

Hi Paladin-

Gorgeous planes! Where is your club in CB? I'm in Ithaca and would love to check it out.

RE: Can a GWS Corsair knife edge??

Oh yes, one thing that helped a bit w/ the lack of coupling in KE is that I always flew sans gear.

RE: Can a GWS Corsair knife edge??

I can't say I started w/ plenty of speed, as I didn't start from a decent, but I was most certainly WOT. To be honest I never checked the GWS throw recs but my rudder was set as far as she could go....

RE: Li-Poly Batteries -- Let Me Get This Straight

I charge mine slowly in a fire safe in my kitchen and only when I'm home. I also have a dedicated fire extinguisher close by.

There's a new product out call a lipo sack that looks pretty...

RE: Can a GWS Corsair knife edge??

Yes it will. It's the plane I learned to KE on. It was also my first low wing and I loved it! Cut my teeth on it. With a Himaxx 2812 I couldn't keep it level in KE, dropped about 10 feet over a 100...

RE: Pacific Aeromodels Edge 540T 40/70

Ordered the Edge in white from winnerrc for $200. Ordered it with scheme by accident and left a message on their phone as they were closed. Was called back the following day confirming change order...

RE: Pacific Aeromodels Edge 540T 40/70

Thanks JDBuddy. That is a great link. Especially for a glow newbie like me. The owner of the lhs told me the new 100 has the same weight and footprint as the 82. I will certainly look into it further...

RE: Pacific Aeromodels Edge 540T 40/70

That is a good question.

Apparently the Saito 100 is has the same footprint as the .82 and is the same weight. Seems well worth twenty bucks more to me. More power at lower throttle. Sounds good...

RE: Pacific Aeromodels Edge 540T 40/70

Flying Tiger,

Yes, this will be my first glow. I will go with the Saito 82 and be sure to reread this thread before I build the Edge. Have two other planes I need to finish first (a 2-1/2lb....

RE: Pacific Aeromodels Edge 540T 40/70

Hi!

I am so happy to find this thread. After considering many choices, I decided my first gas plane should be the this one. I've flown electrics up to 3-1/2 lbs. for two years and am now eager...

RE: ultrafly ultimate

Must have gotten jounced around pretty good in 15 mph winds. Martin - what motor are you using?

Straight wing on the Edge

I'm eagerly awaiting E-flite's Edge this summer but am wondering about the stall characteristics of the taperless leading edge of the wing. I have experience on a Modeltech Extra and a Mini Funtana...

Lipo Lifespan

I've had three TP 3s/2100's die on me so far. ONly one was in a crash. The other two have one cell that swells and gets soft so I have retired them. I would guess these cells only had 20 to 30...

RE: Best Setup for Stenvensaero Cap232.40

Falling - You might want to go with the heavier set up. At 48 oz. auw the wing loading is only 12.5 oz/sq. ft. This kit is light!

RE: Best Setup for Stenvensaero Cap232.40

Have you seen the video of this airplane at Stevens Aero? They strongly recommend using a 2820/10. Seems to be plenty of motor if you keep the build light. I have the 2820/10 in a converted...

RE: SA Cap 232 40e

I just ordered one yesterday. Great video of it at Stevens Aero. Pretty light wingloading for a plane that big. Looks like she'll be staying home if there's much wind but othewise looks fantastic.

RE: PZ P-51

I agree, safety is the issue here. I have had problems with almost every one of the half dozen Hobbyzone planes I've had. And the Parkzone Cub didn't work very long either. Nor has it's replacement...

XF 421 Programming

How do I turn off the delta mixing? I'm trying to set it up with two servos for the Mini Funtana and only one airleron is working. I think the problem is that I can't get it out of delta mode. When I...

RE: Modeltech .25 Extra 300 conversion

Man, this is a great flying airplane! With my 9X6 the motor comes down warm and the battery a little warmer but neither are hot.

RE: Modeltech .25 Extra 300 conversion

Hi,
Excellent thread StephenT.
I'm new here. I recently converted the Modeltech Extra to electric also. I was really enjoying my GWS brushless Corsair but yearned for something larger that I...
