RE: glow plug relocater question

Close, flip the wire over so it won't short out against the head of the engine, it should curve out, not in. I don't like the TT wire style units for that very reason. The other thing to check is if...

RE: common crash parts Raptor v2

Here is my "crash kit" which keeps me flying 80% of the time. I always make sure I have one of each of these as my minimum parts inventory:
Double links
Oval links
Spindle
Main shaft
Main...

RE: Hello Hello Rotor heads

G2 was okay for helicopters but G3 or XTR are much better choices. The heli models are much more realistic than in G2. The sims can easily pay for themselves even if you only avoid a few crashes.

RE: From the frying pan into the fire...

A good place for help with the T-Rex is www.trextuning.com. It has a lot of information on setup, pictures, etc. It also has some articles on setups for beginners.

RE: Is velcro alone good enough for gyro vibration.

Once Nitro fuel gets on it it won't stay stuck forever. Make sure you check it before EVERY flying session. If the Gyro comes loose it makes for a VERY WILD ride (Have your throttle hold set?).

RE: Just got my raptor 30 V2 TT39

What type of flying are you doing? If you will be doing anything with the heli upside down like loops, rolls, etc. I feel a header tank is a must. It is cheap insurance against sucking air into the...

RE: First auto today...

Had an auto for real yesterday. No sweat since I end every flight with an auto. Pays for itself over and over (Kinda like the sim)

RE: Which Blades?

The Mav G4 Pro are very good for the price. They are my current blade of choice. For pure economy the FunKey blades aren't bad and can be found very cheap.

RE: Do you need a governor

No, I run a governer, I am just saying while you are learning setup, or setting up a new bird, run without the governer. Once you have the curves worked out and you are sure of the mixture, and your...

RE: Rx Pack

My VoltWatch tends to be very conservative. You need to verify this by running some tests with an accurate voltmeter but with my 3000mAh pack the VoltWatch is solidly in the yellow/red while moving...

RE: Do you need a governor

No, in fact if you are learning to set up Nitro birds just skip the gov for now. Learn how to setup the curves and mixture manually and maybe then look at a gov. A gov can hide a lot of problems...

RE: governor spring flight problems

Yes and Yes.
I had non-stop problems with the magnetic sensors including one the worked when it arrived in the fall but when I went to install it in the spring it had stopped working. I went...

RE: First time for everyone...

I don't suggest getting closer than that, my hobbico airplane tach has a pretty big display and I can read it from about that far away with my glasses on. I certainly don't suggest getting close to a...

RE: Balling up the Raptor - Crash Video

Did he say TAPE holding the battery on? Servo tape is okay for govs and light things if checked frequently but a battery is far too heavy to be monuted only using tape.

RE: First time for everyone...

In a pinch, if you are stable in the hover an airplane tach can do the job just for testing the hover. Use the helimax blade holder and prop up the tach by putting it in the part of the blade holder...

Seriously, CAPS are rude.
Are you flying the 30V2 ARF w/TT39? I was chasing a mixture problem yesterday that turned out to not be what I thought. The idle point was...

GV-1 is good, there are other models which are cheaper with similair performance, lighter, smaller packages. The GV-1 is just the one I currently own.

RE: 1 piece to make it better

Governer (GV-1), means the difference between 2 weeks of fussing over throttle curves when I rebuild one of my birds from scratch and 1 day of roughing in the curves well enough that I can recover...

RE: Small bit of advice on purchasing your first heli....

It is a flash picture, you can see the shadow of the helicopter on the far wall spreads out from the edge of the helicopter. This means the primary light source is very near the lens of the camera....

RE: Jr Reciever

No, you were right the first time. 6V is the maximum, meaning it should only be run on a four cell pack. A five cell pack puts out more than 6V when freshly charged.

RE: What's in these bottles?

Probably it is the two part epoxy for glueing the wood blades to the root plates.
