In the end here's what I did ..... and what happened:D

I glued the stabilizer on as per the plans and I haven't had any problems with it being pulled...

I did notice that the red (+) wire was on the outside of the connector, so what I did instead of switching the two wires in the connector was just connect is with the two wires on...
