I fly a HET F-20 and decided not to install the Leading edge lift devices. The CG is measured from the leading edge of the wing at the fuselage. With that said, I would not use either "A" or "B"....

It will fly just fine with a 1/4 between the back of the prop and the front of the cowl.....I've built several with 1/4 - 1/2...No difference at all in cooling or airflow.
