Oh and just for interest the engine has now had approx 10-12 gallons thru her and the gudgeon pin through the piston does have some wear seems to be wearing more at one end/side of the needle roller...

Pe, Sorry, Yes you are absolutly right, as usual, it was the thin retaining nut that holds the bottom end of the conrod to the crank which is a left handed thread.
