RE: Hobbico Flyzone Cessna 182 RTF

I'm assuming you're using an APC. That's gotta be a handful on takeoff, though. It wants to torque roll from ROG as it is. How are your runtimes, your speed and are your batteries getting hot? My...

RE: Hobbico Flyzone Cessna 182 RTF

Ah, gotcha. That little plane banks quickly and will drop the nose equally as quick. It'll make an excellent aileron trainer if you can get a friend with a Futaba radio to buddy box with you. If...

RE: Hobbico Flyzone Cessna 182 RTF

I just had to replace mine yesterday. The field I fly at tends to hit channel 50 pretty hard as of late. I can't fly my Blade CP there anymore and the Cessna on that same frequency was a victim of...

RE: Hobbico Flyzone Cessna 182 RTF

Ah, yes. Problem solved.

Even if your ESC is working well, consider a GWS ICS-300J. It's only US$15, it's prewired with the correct connections, switches a LOT faster than the stocker and does...

RE: Hobbico Flyzone Cessna 182 RTF

And I gotta tell ya...I'm almost tempted to follow suit.

Still sputtering even after a motor change. Did OK on the first flight of the new motor and progressively worse afterward. I think...

RE: Hobbico Flyzone Cessna 182 RTF

I just posted my initial reaction to this neat little bird over at rcgroups.com and I thought I should do likewise here.

Seemed really underpowered and barely did an ROG off of the hard-packed...

RE: Parkzone Cub help

Probably won't. The main thread has a very nice brushless outrunner upgrade. You can use a brushless inrunner with the current box. Just make sure your parts are properly lubricated. Try either...

RE: ParkZone J-3 Cub RTF

Beautiful job rendering the Cubbie. Just wonderful. Looks great and performs pretty darn close. I'm now waiting for a RealFlight G3 version!

RE: ParkZone J-3 Cub RTF

She looks flat-out fantastic. Please, please, PLEASE post a template for that wooden firewall adapter. Did you use the stock gearbox as a template? Also, what are you using for batteries?

RE: Blade CP boom strikes

^^Broke down and bought RealFlight G3.

Oh, yes.

After seven months of busting parts just to be at the point of doing tail-in and some side-in hovering, this is THE most invaluable tool...

RE: Blade CP boom strikes

Sounds like you have about the same setup that I do. Plasti-Blades, SuperSkids, Bell-Hiller and li-pos.

I had a feeling that the SuperSkids supports were causing problems. so off they came some...

RE: ParkZone J-3 Cub RTF

^^You're welcome.

You'd feel right at home out here. Temps have been over 110 for several days, we have the obligatory wind and to top it all off, a wildfire is toasting the high desert big...

RE: ParkZone J-3 Cub RTF

I share GG's sentiments, Bob. Great job over there. Meant to say that a couple of posts back.

You may have answered another question of mine, namely that of which li-pos fit in that itty-bitty...

RE: ParkZone J-3 Cub RTF

^^Ooh, I want! I've heard of these things but I know nothing about them. A brushless Cubbie on the stock electronics would be a beautiful thing, especially since Horizon seems to have the glitches...

RE: Blade CP boom strikes

I'm back and I'm afraid the news isn't good.

I CA'd the boom, put it all back together and moved the pack rearward about 1/2". There was a bit of a breeze outside, but I wasn't too concerned;...

RE: E-flite P-47 alternate battery

Exactly! See, you could have bought a Typhoon, but noooooo! :D

Seriously, your "S/C Cub" is the inspiration for my "Ol' Frank!" In fact, I'd like to try some of those same mods on a Super...

RE: Blade CP boom strikes

Fairly stable. It wants to dance around a bit, but nothing I can't seem to handle. Now that you mention it, it does want to pitch forward on takeoff. The CG is where it says it should be, but I'm...

Blade CP boom strikes

I tell you, I am SO tired of replacing parts every time I try and take up that eggbeater of mine.

Been practicing tail-in hovers ever since I got the thing for Christmas. 1300 li-pos and a Bell...

RE: ParkZone J-3 Cub RTF

As seems to be the custom here, may I just say: Welcome to the addiction!

That rudder roll you described really is a lot of fun and easier to do if you move the clevises at the control surfaces...

RE: ParkZone J-3 Cub RTF

You know, I tried a Slo-V once and I found it more difficult to fly than the Cub. The Cub's a bit faster, but it seems easier to control.

RE: ParkZone J-3 Cub RTF

So many questions, so little space. :)

The tail is held on by double-sided tape underneath the plastic clip that holds everything together. There's an upgraded service part now available that...

RE: E-flite P-47 alternate battery

I had a feeling it might be. I didn't want to either carve up the fuse or add a ridiculous amount of weight. EBay has two Apex 2100s for less than a hundred bucks as opposed to the roughly eighty...

E-flite P-47 alternate battery

Hi! A couple of questions, if I may; hope no one minds if I'm starting a new thread on an old discussion, but I really haven't been able to find my answer anywhere.

My P-47 is arriving next...

RE: ParkZone J-3 Cub RTF

The problem is the spur gear spinning on the shaft. No question. This is a very common problem and is just as easily repaired. The shaft and its hardware are sold as a service part and will set...
