RE: New Axe is here!

Well, a day late and a dollar short.

I sliced my neighbors Mercedes in half with the laser. So the guy starts pissing and moaning at me and I took a page out of my 22 year olds book and blamed...

RE: New Axe is here!

Now I'm happy as a clam. While doing pre-flight and lubing up the bushings and whatnot, I noticed a small crack in the tail blade - I haven't hit it on anything I'm aware of. So I figure what the...

RE: New Axe is here!

Rick,

Thought about the extension cord but it's too heavy so I went with 40 gauge speaker wire. It's easy to see at night because it glows.

Yes, I have a 25 amp power supply. It's a...

New Axe is here!

The Axe CP got here Friday - got it from Victoria Hobby for $175.

Diary:

Empty out garage for first flights. Watch DVD, it looks so easy. I am not fooled. Guy flying it on DVD looks too...

RE: Getting an Axe CP

I just hit the link. Gone. Poop. I found a few others by searching "airwolf body"; most are like $100 for the T-Rex. I've got a line on a guy that has fiberglass bodies but I didn't bookmark it. He...

really stupid video

While waiting for my Axe CP to get here, I have plenty of time on my hands so I did a video. The copter is one of those cheapo Havocs. I finally [:@] got the stinking thing to fly straight. My cat...

RE: Getting an Axe CP

Nah, I don't need no retracts (or so I say now). There's an Ebay store that sells the bodies, 24" for about $30 bucks. Clear Lexan body that will be sure to trap heat so that everything melts inside,...

RE: Getting an Axe CP

I figured as much about the stock battery. I might stop in at the BatteriesPlus in town and see what they have. They fixed me up with a great 120/12 volt charger for the LiPo in my digital camera; I...

Getting an Axe CP

I'm done lurking and decided which heli to get.

I ordered an Axe tonight (The wife is going to kill me, come to the estate sale to get it :D) - Saw one at our local hobby shop (talked with an...

Blade CP purchase

I've read some other threads regarding the Esky Blade CP - now I'm purchasing one and have a few questions. With the RTF kit (new to r/c copters - want one already set up) I plan on getting Li-Po...

RE: rc-expert.com

I suspect we're talking about a different person/site. This is a straight purchase site - http://www.rc-expert.com/ - not a bidding site. Yes, this place is an "Ebay platinium powerseller", but I'm...

Anyone ever buy anything from them? I'm thinking about buying one of their package deals.

RE: newbie, sort of.

True, not a kid. But, kids don't shop at Harbor Feight (they bought the discontinued stock of these planes and sell them cheap). The real criminal part is that these things aren't designed correctly....

RE: newbie, sort of.

Oh yeah, almost forgot. Taxied plane around house without wings attached to get used to using engine thust for steering for several hours. Drove wife, cats, turtle, frogs and kids nuts with buzzing.

RE: newbie, sort of.

Suggest naysayers take aerodynamics class like I did. Simple effect of lift, thrust and direction, Einsteins' theory correct.

Okay, moved the motors outboard 3" each. In theory, this should...

RE: newbie, sort of.

Thanks for the welcome!

Well, I got the plane out of the tree, got a repair kit (new wings, props, etc.) and have a new plan. I'm going to make this thing fly.

Seems to me this (and most...

newbie, sort of.

Howdy everyone, a new member here.

I've got years of experience in simulators so I understand the dynamics of flight. Now, I guess I caught the R/C bug; I bought a "yellow bee" plane for $29...
