evolution 45 gx2

currentlymounting the Evolution 45 gx2 in a QQ yak-85". using standoffs, the carb just clears the firewall by 1/4 inch. will this be enough breathing room, or should I cut a hole in the firewall ?

Does the landing gear "sweep" face forward or to the rear. If your lay the gear on a flat surface. one side sits flush and the other side is angled. Is the angled side forward or aft ?
