RE: FSA Clubhouse

So YOU were the culprit behind the Cub invasion today? It all makes sense now...

RE: FSA Clubhouse

I visited a friend there once; as she had three cats and I am severely allergic, I spent the one night in a horse trailer with living quarters in it. What I didn't bank on was waking up to a...

RE: FSA Clubhouse

It was great flying weather! Unfortunately, a busted fuel tank stopper (not the actual fuel line, as I originally supposed) removed itself from the fuel tank and summarily caused the inside of my...

RE: FSA Clubhouse

Thanks. I would have brought him out to the field one weekend, but he was terrified of loud noises (thunder, fireworks, backfiring engines, etc) and I don't think he would have liked being around...

RE: FSA Clubhouse

Yes, it's called a Guillow's glider :D

Thanks everyone for the kind words, it's still kind of sinking in at this point. Having to look at his now empty dog bed on the floor is enough to make me...

RE: FSA Clubhouse

Guys,

This is quite off topic, but I hope you all understand. I just watched my dog die. He was 10.5 years old and just stopped breathing in front of me. I know this is RCuniverse and not...

RE: FSA Clubhouse

Great pics Andrew! Thanks for sharing your accomodations with me too...for someone who spends 75% of his time in Maine, having a tent to sit under in 90-degree weather is nothing short of paradise. ...

RE: FSA Clubhouse

It looks like I won't be able to make it out after all on Friday evening. I'm working late and then my cousin from FL is taking the family out to dinner, and I have to get home for that as it's his...

RE: FSA Clubhouse

Hey guys. Is anyone going to the field next Friday evening to mow grass, paint lines, set some stuff up, etc? I work until 5 but plan on coming over to help with set up as long as people are going to...

RE: trainer planes

Can't say anything about that particularplane as I trained on nitro, but if you do elect to do the gas route, I would suggest the Hangar 9 Arrow. Really stable and capable of basic acrobatics...I...

RE: FSA Clubhouse

Hi guys! Finally made it back from Maine...spent close to 12 hours on the interstate. Feh. I have some servos that I don't need any more (they were in an olderplane that was poorly-made by the...

RE: FSA Clubhouse

Hi guys! Hope everyone had a great Christmas. My dad's business partner was handing out "Christmas cards" at the office which read as follows (he brought a few of them home)

RE: FSA Clubhouse

Funny how engines don't seem to run nearly as well when the tank is empty! My Monocoupe, though it's not a Cub, also needs a good bit of left stick to fly its best, which is something I'm still...

RE: FSA Clubhouse

That's what I was going to say...fly down the centerline at approach altitude from left to right, pull a split S, and drop it on the short grass. Provided you cut the throttle before the split S so...

RE: FSA Clubhouse

You guys aren't going to believe this...the Blue Angels came to Brunswick (where Bowdoin is). I just got back from spending the day at the Navy Base watching all kinds of cool airplanes (Stearman...

RE: FSA Clubhouse

Thanks for the advice! I'm headed to school tomorrow, so I won't be able to do what you suggested until later this year, but I'll make sure to try it before I decide to do a complete engine refit.

RE: FSA Clubhouse

IT FLIES!...and it's also painfully obvious that she needs a smaller engine! The "new" Monocoupe dropped about 2 pounds with the new covering on it, so that means that the OS 1.60 that was too much...

I switched to Advantage Hobby a few months ago and have never gone back. The shipping is reasonable, the prices are good, and the customer service is great. The last straw for me with Tower was...

RE: FSA Clubhouse

It can't be as bad as my "cardinal mistake" a few years ago...pulling out of a loop with the throttle up halfway. Instant re-kit. RIP Giles G202!

Then, not too long ago, I tried riding a...

RE: FSA Clubhouse

Just a wild guess on why it says "humans only"...it could be an old military transport car from the WWII days, the ones they used to move big groups of soldiers. What they're using it for now is...

RE: FSA Clubhouse

!Muy bien! Congrats on a successful maiden; will we get to see her at the fly-in on Saturday?

PS. Someone's going to have to ultra-fertilize the area where the "8" was cut so that it grows...
