IMO there are several issues than can cause the receiver to lose signal on a DX7 (or other Spektrums). If the receiver battery goes below the threshold the receiver will "lock out" for a short time....

Read the manufactors suggestions for short and long term storgae. Remember, heat is never good for a chemical based item (which ones aren't)? Never ever leave or store your Lipo in your plane. ...
