RE: SV27 Battery Thread

Ryan, I may get that balancer you recommend. FYI...when I made an inquiry to Mike at cheapbatteries dot com he said my best bet was to get a different charger that included the balancer. He...

RE: SV27 Battery Thread

Thanks Ryan. I was thinking you might be the first to jump in here and give me some LiPo guidance. As always, you are a great resource in this hobby.

I did a search on Tower's website and...

RE: SV27 Battery Thread

Guys, I've been away from the hobby for well over a year and am just now getting back into it. I actually started this thread almost 2 years ago I think. Wow...Time flys. Anyway, it looks like...

RE: Will this motor work for a Super Hawaii?

I've built 3 Super Hawaii's (one SH, one CESA, and 1 Purple Light) and I agree a 700sc on 14 quality cells is the way to go. My only remaining SH has a Cordite 800 into a Speedmasters hardware set...

RE: jet villain- finally some jumping videos

Well...I guess this is one of the benefits of having a jet drive. Not sure how the thin ABS hull will like dock jumping long term.

RE: SV27 motors

The only plug and play upgrade you could do to get more power and LESS weight is go LIPO

RE: pro fisherman

The other thing to keep in mind when considering an 800 motor is the # of cells needed. These motors whether in an outboard or as part of a direct drive set-up require lots of cells. 14 cells is...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Over greasing the solid part of the drive shaft in the strut causes extra strain on the motor which = heat. I usually lightly grease the flex shaft portion and use 3 in 1 oil on the strut portion of...

RE: super v 27 flex shaft size?

Why do you want to swap out the strut??? Sure I've seen prettier struts out there but the stock strut works great unless you want to do lots of trim adjustments (not really necessary IMO).

RE: BlackJack conversion 2.0

I don't have experience with cats (just monos) so this may be all wrong...but it seems that your turn fins should be angled out a bit more instead of straight vertical. I know it's not a V hull and...

RE: Best FM radio system for the $ ?

Is this the same Hitec FM system that Steven at OSE sells for $76.99? He doesn't show the exact "Agressor" model name on his site so I'm not sure. BTW...any radio would feel like a Dewalt drill...

RE: Best FM radio system for the $ ?

It's more of a guideline than a rule. It used to be 2 boats ;) then 3...then 4. Now I really don't have enough dry dock space to keep anymore than 4.

RE: Best FM radio system for the $ ?

I've actually got 4 boats at the moment but they each have their own radio. FWIW...I've got a wife guideline in my house about RC boats. "4 boats max...If I want a new boat...one of the others has...

RE: Best FM radio system for the $ ?

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'll add the JR XS3 to the top of the list. Looks like a lot of features for the money and I really only need 3 model memory. BTW...Budget is ~$100-110 USD so this on...

RE: Aeromarine Titan 33 – 55mph

Great call on the Speedmasters hardware. It looks so good and can handle anything you can throw at it. Nice work.

RE: Powering big, heavy boat

OK...since speed is not your main priority, and you want to go electric...I would recommend you stay with a scale look and put an 800 outboard on your boat. Don't let the picture below fool you. ...

RE: Powering big, heavy boat

Sounds like you'll need a full on weedwacker motor for the boat you describe. Even a lightish fully glass fiber boat 55" long is tough to power with electrics. By the time you get all of the motors...

Best FM radio system for the $ ?

You guys are killing me with all the "glitch" stories with the stock SV27 radio. I personally have not had anything resembling a glitch or malfunction with mine since I got the boat last September...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

One reason you may be getting so much vibration in the blue SV17 may be because the stock flex cables are ofter put together way out of balance. Where the flex part of the cable is soldered into the...

RE: How to make a fast super hawaii

Until you put some real motors or a hot single motor in your SH, you won't get above 18mph. You could go the route of floon with dual motors but the easiest and most efficient way to get this boat...

RE: Electric Newbie...

That's a pretty boat but at that size and weight it will be difficult to make it very fast with electric power. You will need a high end BL motor and 30 cells to make this boat even reasonably fast.

RE: where do I lube the motor

There really aren't any bearings in the SV but rather bushings. You should put one drop of 3 in 1 oil on either end of the motor can where you see the motor shaft protruding. This should be done...

RE: super vee 27 set-up help

That may or may not be normal and you shouldn't run this particular motor without load. The vibration could come from several places. I suggest you remove your flex drive shaft and check it for...
