RE: Seagull's

I have 2 DAs and have been flying them for about 2 1/2 years. Probably close to 300-350 flights between the 2 of them.

One has OS-LA46s and the other has OS 52 four strokes. Both fly it well,...

RE: Seagull's "Dual Ace"

Sorry it has taken me a while to respond to the question on the OS 52 four strokers on the dual ace. I am using 11 x 7 props on them and they are a great fit. I did put larger wheels on it, though,...

RE: Seagull's "Dual Ace"

Awhile back there was a question about OS 52s on a dual ace. I have a pair on my second airplane and in my opinion, you could not find a better engine to power this thing.
I have a pair of OS LA...

RE: Seagull's "Dual Ace"

Interesting to read all the information on engine out experiences with the dual ace. I have been flying 2 of them....one with the original nacelles and OS LA-40s for power, and one with home made...

RE: Seagull's "Dual Ace"

Yes, Chris, I have been to Monticello. The guy that got me started flying took me down there to the Hobby Shop. I think the guy's name that ran it was Frank and he was in poor health. I know he...

RE: Seagull's "Dual Ace"

That would be fine, Chris. Where exactly is Rison, AR? Bring your airplane along and we'll go out to the field for awhile. Ever been here before?

RE: Seagull's "Dual Ace"

Hi Chris:

Here are some pictures of where I am at with respect to the new nacelles on Dual Ace #2. You can see #1 in the background in the one shot. That one has over 100 flights on it with ...

RE: Seagull's "Dual Ace"

On the question about the LA-46s in the Dual Ace. I have been flying one for a year now, probably have over 100 flights on it and I am using 2 LA-40s with 10x6 props. Plenty of power. I did keep...

RE: Seagull's "Dual Ace"

One more thought on those sheared wing bolts......

I hope this does not come across as condescending....but I assume he had the wing tube in. If not, they would shear off really easy...

RE: Seagull's "Dual Ace"

I have been flyig my Dual Ace for about 4 months now and would estimate that I have about 35 flights on it. I have not crashed it yet and have no damage other than a bent nose strut after one rough...

RE: Seagull's "Dual Ace"

What a bummer! Did you cut the throttle to the left engine or did you still have some power applied?

I plan to fly mine the first time tomorrow and my plan is if one quits to just shut the...

RE: Seagull's "Dual Ace"

I have been reading with great interest all the comments on the dual ace flight characteristics. My total dry weight (without fuel) is 10 and 1/2 pounds. 8 ounces in the nose plus the battery and...

RE: Seagull's "Dual Ace"

I have read all the comments about the dual ace and am about ready to give mine a try. I had a couple LA-40s layin around so they will be the first power plants in the thing. They don't seem much...
