RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum

BrettW,

The tail motors seem to be the same - I don't knw about the "new and improved...." claim etc.

I have burnt about 5 tail m otors out since March, including a brand new Venom NRII...

RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum

Thanks for the comments all,

I think I may have found my problem.

I just tried another flight and it started off pretty stable. It then went weird and was all over the place - hard to trim...

RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum

Thanks for your help.

I'll have a play tonight and let you know how I get on.

I have read comments from some saying that the adjustment pot makes no difference, but now I know it is...

RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum

Rollin Thunder,

Thanks for the info mate.

The new tail motor seems so powerful - I thought it would have reacted the same as the Walkera one.

So when you say set the yaw trim 3/4 to...

RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum

Gidday all,

I got my Venom NRII tail motor delivered today. Decided to stick with this instead of going the dual mount or direct drive path.

I soldered it in tonight.

It's all over the...

RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum

Gidday Brett,

I'd be lucky to be getting 10 packs out of them.

I use a 2s 7.4v lipo but lately, have tried the stock NiMh packs, but the tail motors just don't last.

Cheers,

Steve

RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum

Guys,

I'm sick of having to replace tail motors on my 4#1 and have been reading up on alternatives.

I've tried dual motors before but just couldn't get balance and I don't want to shorten...

Mini Titan E325 and gyro mount

Gidday all,

I am thinking of mounting the GY401 in the "boxed" area of the frame so that the flybar paddles won't hit it in a crash.

I have seen somewhere, pictures of this done and the...

RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum

By the way - The new rotor head for the new bladeholder, has the guide ring built in. The rotor head bearings are also a differnet size - they are 2 mm thick. So the original rotor head and guide...

RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum

The new head design is heaps better. Yes, it's a pain putting the blade holder back on when it pops, but holding a flat screwdriver blade under the bearing on each side and rocking it back on works...

RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum

Gary,

I'm still learning to fly and can't even do 20 second hovers yet and seem to flip when I hit the ground and end up damaging rotor head or blade holders.

Am I best to take the grips...

RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum

Yep Gary,

Got a set of Supergrips same time and have been on from day 1 with the SS's.

Perhaps that's the issue - they grip so well that the force keeps being applied when the heli stops...

RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum

Gary,

My SS's have only been on a short time and I note that they are also getting loose in the plastic frame, to the extent that I continually have to straighten the tips up all the time.

RE: Issues with Lite Machines Corona 120 heli

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

As it turns out, the throttle channell on this particular radio needs to be reversed and someone had flipped the switch back to normal.

All is well now - At...

RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum

Glad to hear you sorted it out.

I like the new design blade holder but I've broken mine already, after only 1/2 a battery pack. Had a decent hit landing on the blade tip and actually snapped off...

RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum

Just under 5mm long

Screw diameter is about 1.5 mm

RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum

Jaydizzl879,

Yep - strange that no screws are supplied.
The screws that secure the flybar linkages on the first design head are too short.

I got 2 screws out of my spares box and cut them...

Mate,

The 2 parts in my post above are the ones you'll need.

Make sure you ask for "second design" as the first design part numbers are the same.
Also, the flybar retaining bit that comes...
