RE: F-1?

You mentioned "what i want to avoid is constant spinning out during acceleration and steering"

Putting a powerful motor into the F10 will most likely cause this. But then you get to learn a...

RE: Tamiya

This thing rocks! Lower center of gravity than a Scorcher, and it really tears up the beach. I'm tempted to go brushless in it! Great beach runner!

RE: Tamiya

I never had an original FAV kit (always wanted one). The build is a little fiddly though if you want to paint everything like this. Only 1 way to put things together. You have to do it in the right...

RE: Tamiya TB-01 Resource Thread!

I can't believe this thread is still running. "Boxer", I still have all 3 TB-01 Subaru prototypes I bought about 2 years ago. Still have lots of parts,etc...

RE: New M-Chassis from HPI !

Yeah, I'd have to say the M04 is one of my favorite chassis to drive.

RE: New M-Chassis from HPI !

That looks nice! Didn't think of putting a cup racer shell on an M04.... good idea. Rear wheels look PHAT.

RE: My first couple body's i painted.

Nice! Another tip, is before you peel off the shell covering and window masks, is to give the interior a spray with black, that way you don't see the color when looking inside the car windows.
Make...

RE: What is an M-Chassis for?

M cars are awesome. Smaller size with 540 motors. Long run times and faaaast if you make them! My favorite scale for sure!

RE: Tamiya TB-02 Resource Thread

That lipo/brushless is gonna do a number on your diffs! Worth giving it a go though, I run a 4600kv brushless on my TB02.
Just lowered the gearing quite a bit to see if it helps in the acceleration...

RE: Tamiya TB-01 Resource Thread!

Ok, so I finally went into the basement and busted into a NIB 2001 TB01 Subaru Prototype I had. Took out the splined steel driveshaft and replaced both bevel gears and ring gears with METAL!!!!!!

RE: Tamiya TB-01 Resource Thread!

I'm running Castle Sidewinder 4600 in it. I run 7.2v and 9.6v packs.

Every time the center of the plastic bevel gear gets reamed out. So it's not the teeth that are breaking, it's the inside...

RE: Tamiya TB-01 Resource Thread!

Ran the TB01 yesterday with a 7.2 6 cell. ONCE AGAIN I've shredded the inside of the plastic bevel gear.

I have a few more spares, but they just don't last! THis one was new! Looks like it's...

RE: New M-Chassis from HPI !

Are you sure those will fit? I've had 2 sizes of X-cut tires in my experience. I believe the 26mm is the standard touring (1/10) size, whereas there "was" an M size x-cut.
The 2 are not the same.

RE: Tamiya TB-01 Resource Thread!

I'm using stock gearing. But with the Castle Sidewinder 4600, which I know can take 9.6v. I don't know what a stock silvercan would do on 9.6v. Prob be faster, but also probably burn out. ESC might...

RE: Alpha Romeo M-04M Build Thread

I don't think it's spam. This is an Alfa build thread. It's actually a Mini Cooper Racing part. Not sure of the model #.

They fit the Alfa perfectly on the bumper mounts in front, and almost...

RE: Tamiya TB-01 Resource Thread!

At this point I don't think an ALL metal drive train is overkill. The 9.6v Sidewinder setup is pretty torquey. I'd prefer to not have to worry all the time about broken gears due to the power my...

RE: Tamiya TB-01 Resource Thread!

I have this same problem with my 9.6v Castle 4600 sidewinder setup.

See my post from last year. - http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=8552460

I too need to bust into a Subaru Prototype...
