RE: Washing the car/buggy with the hose

I too was concerned about rusting out critical areas. The compressed air concentrated on the electronics and joints helps reduce this worry.

Maybe when the car is old and all bashed up I won't...

Washing the car/buggy with the hose

I had friends over and was forced to take the buggy into the very dry backyard. The amount of dust that was kicked up was unbelievable, and the buggies were filthy. I was attempting to wipe the car...

RE: Post your horror stories

Forgot to turn on the electronics and the car's throttle was wide open. Making matters worse I did not start the car on a block of wood. I basically panicked and held the car stationary, probably...

RE: Starting out in RC cars

There's kit cars. Is that scratch enough for you?

If your just starting out, why not get a ready to run car (RTR)?

RE: WD-40

I just picked up a some 3-in-1 oil from Walmart. It has a pull out spout (~4 inches) for easy and precise lubing. Really really nice for $1 and some change. [8D]

RE: To Nitro or Not to Nitro!

I'm new to the hobby, so I cannot address reliability. For me the Nitro adds another dimension. Sound! My Nitro buggy sounds like I'm attending the time trials at the Indy 500.

The...

RE: Nitro Thunder is being broken in... and????

I feel like I'm the pied piper. Breakin in the engine out on the front street and the kids flock around me. "How fast and how much does it cost?" are the common questions.

The LHS guy says...

RE: WD-40

It's the propellant inside that might be harmful.

What you want is some clean low viscosity oil. The oil is not only a lubricant but helps displace any water moisture that might be in the...

RE: Nitro Thunder is being broken in... and????

Great response.

After thinking about it, I might have broken the glow plug. Initially, I was just pushing the glow plug lighter down. I guess I turned it once, before I knew that thats what...

RE: Nitro Thunder is being broken in... and????

Okay so the female unit comes home and wants to see the buggy go. The unit has some emotional investment . Well it would not start. The glow plug was deader than a door nail. Luckily I had...

RE: Haiboxing buggies

I did a search earlier. Nadda, nothing. We might have to go thru GrandHobby for parts. :(

Was there an 800 number in the manual?

Nitro Thunder is being broken in... and????

and I've got questions. This is my first Nitro so I'm not sure what's normal or odd or what.

1. I have to trim the throttle up a bit to get it started. Normal because it's running factory rich...

RE: This is a super amazing lookin car

~$2000, Wow!!!

I'd rather buy 4-6 new RTR nitro cars and buggies. His claim of $100s to $1000 of replacement parts for manufactured cars is for those that shouldn't be in the hobby in the first...

RE: takiing off old tires?

Excellant information about pulling tires off. I knew there had to be a simple way.

Next question for me is putting in foam inserts. Can I just go out and buy foam, cut it and shove it in, or...

RE: Tire mounting question.

Thanks! I also asked the LHS owner, who said most peeps just buy new tires and wheels together. He does unmount and reuse the wheels, but it's a patient skill done with fine (i.e. jeweler) tools.

RE: Tire mounting question.

Is it a big deal to unmount and remount tires? And do you have to use CA glue? I've use CA before on balsa wood and it was the strongest link.

My Tayami Nitro needs some foam insert in the...

RE: Want are some good 1/10 scale nitro buggies other than the Duratrax Evader

Take a look at the Tamiya Nitro Thunder. There's some online reviews that really like the Buggy.

Power to rate ratio is to equal the 1/8 scale buggies. It's a flat flying jumper. Has an...

RE: New Driver w/ First Car -- HaiBoxing

The WD-40 isn't the answer. [:o]

My car has the same reverse problem. I find that by flicking the accel. trigger forward 4+ times will usually get the buggy going in reverse. For the money I...
