RE: EF Chinn Yak

Clay, got your PM. So you want to know which one profile is best for 3D?

That is a good question. Since you already have a Saito 82 but don't want to build, check with some of the guys on that...

RE: Bad Ignition module?

Well, I looked at everything and here is what I found.
My timing was not as advanced as it could be. It also is apparent that I am barely able to get 28-30 degrees with the Hall
sensor on this...

RE: Bad Ignition module?

I did finally get an email back from Tomy of MT Engines. He apologizes for the delay, they are out of town (kind of suspected that).
He has been good about fast replies to me in the past.

RE: DA-85 Question

Yarom thanks again,
That is good information. I do have a flex header wrapped with teflon. I am striving to bolt everything in place with a little stress to that flexable section as possible. I...

RE: Bad Ignition module?

Hi Andy, I have to agree with you on that. Jon595 was there when it was blasting flames out the exhaust.

Jon, I will hopefully have my Sukhoi ready to fly with any luck. Scott and I are almost...

RE: DA-85 Question

Thanks yarom, I'll check for some tubing at NAPA, they have everything. Appreciate the heads up on interference issues about the contact between the gear and the cannister. Mine may only have 1/4...

RE: DA-85 Question

What are you guys running cannisters using for the stuff that looks like fuel tubing to help secure the cannister within the brackets?
Looks like glow fuel tubing. I decided my old H-9 Sukhoi...

RE: Bad Ignition module?

I was referring to the cap size. I offered up the other ignitions to the spark plug on my 57 and they will just not go on it. The spark plug caps are too small, they are made for the NGK CM6 and the...

RE: Bad Ignition module?

Yes, I have an ignition for the DA 50, the DL 50, and a couple of other engines.
But the kicker is that all of those awesome ignitions are designed for a small little spark plug and the spark plug...

RE: Bad Ignition module?

Hi Jake, I did check the timing and it was still right there at around 28-30 degrees.
I would think you are on to something there about a cracked reed with all the backfiring. Didn't occur to me...

Bad Ignition module?

This seems like a good follow up to MetallicaJunkies Hall Sensor thread.

So how can you tell that the ignition module is going bad.

Let me start with this. I have the MT57 whcih I like and...

RE: Mt 57..... Runs like crap

I used 800 wet/dry with a good flat plate glass and honed my reed block down very evenly. </p>

Since you have it off, I hope you will too. Mine was pretty much flat, except where the screws went...

RE: Mt 57..... Runs like crap

Um, well my engine arrived with some assembly required. I took the opportunity to clean out all the shipping debris and since the carb was not attached, had a good look at how things were there too....

RE: Mt 57..... Runs like crap

WOW! Sounds like you've tried just about everything.

If possible, see if the reeds are sitting flat against the reed block. Mine were off a bit on one side due to the screws that hold them on...

RE: SV-26 carb problems

The reed block on my engine had a couple of small raised edges where the screws to hold the reeds down had been screwed in a little too tight. Hope that explains it.

Anyway, I took it all apart...

RE: How are all you MT57 users making out?

Hi Rich, thanks for that info. 20 seconds in hover is actially pretty good to me.
Can you recall about what throttle or better would be RPM's in hover. Guess that's where a full blown data...
