Confused about correct ESC to Motor connection...

I'm building a SIG Kadet senior from the kit for my first plane and I'm making it electric. I have an eRC ESC and motor (motor is eRC .40 size and the ESC is a 65A) and I need help to ensure I...

RE: Why do we have outlandish fees to join AMA clubs?

Atlas Shrugged?! I think Sean Hannity is more popular in this fourm than Ayn Rand. ;)

I found the references to "frisbee golf" interesting- by the way, participants typically use the term disc...

RE: New Radios and AMA

Actually, the AMA already releases quite a bit of data regarding claims. So far I haven't found specific information on 72 Mhz vs. SS though.

RE: New Radios and AMA

oops- another point I found interesting:
Some of the more serious claims paid out by AMA have been totally unrelated to flying. In one case, a motorcyclist hit a fence erected by the club. In...

RE: New Radios and AMA

Thanks for the pointer to the 500 series docs, Abel. I found much more info than I expected! For example, most claims are paid to AMA members, most claims are property damage claims, and many times...

RE: New Radios and AMA

Does AMA release data on insurance claims made by members? How many insurance claims have been covered on accidents, by ama members, at AMA chartered club fields as opposed to accidents somewhere...

RE: Lack of growth

I built a Heathkit morse code oscillator 35 years ago and I still use it. The radios are sold at hamfests all the time, usually quite quickly!

RE: Lack of growth

Amateur radio (ham radio) is an example of this trend, too. While the total number of amateur radio licenses actually increased through 2003, if one looks at growth as a percentage of population, the...

RE: Easy Star RR Questions

Hi Dan,
I have the Easy Star kit/arf version and I love it. So far, I have 11 flights with it. It's a very tough airplane, as brewerjk said, but it's also a blast to fly.

I use a 7 cell 900...

RE: Does it matter what Freq?? radio

Didn't mean to resurrect a 30+ days old thread, but I was searching for more info on channel 20 and found this one. My brother gave me a Futaba 4NBF tx and a 127df rx, on channel 20. As I was surfing...

RE: Does it matter what Freq?? radio

It's not so much that it interferes with channel 20 uniquely but that it could produce interference to ALL rc receivers in the area.

My understanding is that older receivers might mix the TV...

RE: current Ham TX models?

I'm still not sure I understand. I'm asking about brand new models sold by JR retail dealers. Are all new JR radios sold by dealers modular? Are the 9303 and 10x the only modular radios sold by...

Ham TX options?

I'm shopping for a new radio and I'm looking for opinions on using the 50 mhz band. I have my license already. What radios are out there that do 50 mhz and are suitable for beginners? The new models...

jsbzmcdaniel-
The Mulitplex Easy Star might be an option to consider, too. I've just completed my first flight with the Easy Star and can tell you that it is a very forgiving plane. It was a great...

RE: New AMA members: Are you satisfied?

I guess I'm satisfied with what the AMA has "done for me" in my first year of membership, but I think that might be the wrong question to ask. I'm not sure what I even should be expecting the AMA to...

RE: First Plane for a newbie

Building a plane from a kit is yet another option. You will learn quite a bit about your plane if you go this route. It will also take you a lot longer to build from a kit, but that isn't necessarily...

RE: Sig Kadet Ep

The SIG manual for the Kadet Senior gives instructions for hand launching on p. 26, but that's assuming a glow engine in the senior.

RE: Beginners asking the same question...

affordability was an issue to me. I spent just over $100 for an electric park flyer (Ventura) because I wanted to try the hobby out first before spending $300-400. Yes, I could afford to spend...
