I built my own cracker box, built maybe 10-15 of them now for my friends, we found smaller diameter throws the boat around less. Try all your props on it, you might be surprised. I run a 6518/3 and...

RE: putting the final touches on my Easy Vee

2.4 ghz wavelength is so small it gets absorbed by water, especially the roostertail from our gas boats.
By making it frequency hopping it seems to be a lot more reliable.
Spectrum is not...

RE: This shall be my build thread.

Joe's (ZipKits) hardware is pretty good, and great value for the money. Aeromarine has an Inline strut and rudder kit that is really cheap that would work good too. Nothing fancy but it will get you...

RE: This shall be my build thread.

What??????
Are you paying someone to build it?
If you wanted a fiberglass boat you should have bought one. I could fiberglass it and flowcoat it for less than $20, nice thing about wood is it...

RE: whats involved with a trimmer/chainsaw conversion

Most Chainsaw engines turn the wrong way and are heavier than trimmer motors. Would be great to see someone do it but if your trying to save money then stick to the trimmer motors or X force as...

RE: Gas Rescue

I tied a tennis ball to a fishing reel, if it is close I throw the tennins ball across it and hope it snags something and reel it in. If it is further away I use a battery powered boat to take the...

RE: Looking for a RTR MONO

Beautiful boat there. Sad to see. I would buy another Lazer and transfer everything over. You have all the good stuff in that one and anything less will be disappointing.
Get a hold of one of the...

RE: ***Introducing the R/C Boat World Championship Series***

I think it's cool Carlos take the time and effort into developing a race series like this. If it went on to the final being the best of the best or a qualifing final it would be even better. Most...

RE: High Lift or Not?

Never seen a gas boat run a 60mm prop. 65 yes 60 no, (unless it is subsurface)
And I think an X460 anything will have a 3/16th shaft, not 1/4", could be wrong

RE: 48in mono hull scratch build

I ran a drive like that for a while, most of the top blade will still be out of the water.
Trying to find 12 year old pics on hard drives is the problem now. [8D]

RE: 48in mono hull scratch build

Try a X470/3, or Prather 275 or 280.
You might need another shroud, you cut that one a bit low. Once you start working the engine harder you need the cooling coming off the fan going across the...
