RE: Can JR advise re US sales of XG11?

OK, so you have restated the obvious advantage to the XG-11, but . . . . . . .

RE: JR12X replacemnt??

At least you *get* the choice! Horizon decided to drop the modular here . . . apparently, they didn't think we had enough mental firepower to master the process of choice . . .

RE: JR12X replacemnt??

Considering that the 12X was not designed by JR as a DSM system, but rather a modular system, that logic makes no sense . . . It was Horizon that asked JR to convolute the US 12X into a DSM only...

RE: motor smoking

Oh a heli, it's very simple . . . if it's too hot, it's too lean, and the power you are getting does not matter! Heli engines are not tuned for peak power like airplane engines - they just don't...

RE: motor smoking

Exhaust smoke, or ? ? ? If you don't have a smoky exhaust, you are likely way, way too lean, and overheating your engine massively . . .

1-1/2 turns is the *STARTING* point and has exactly...

RE: Futaba GV-1 governor set up

Enable StSw in the GV-1 . . . that is what is required to have the GV-1 drop offline based on stick position (StickSwitch)

Without that (which is the default) it ignores stick position once...

RE: JR 50Mhz Rx. compatible W/ 53Mhz crystals ?

Try to coordinate a repeater on one of those frequencies and see how "suggested" it is . . . it just ain't gonna happen!

This is *THE* band plan for the US . . . and while not law, HAMs are...

RE: JR 50Mhz Rx. compatible W/ 53Mhz crystals ?

modeltronics -
Were hatt actually the band plan, then I would agree, but it isn't . . . RC is still clearly designated on the *actual* band plan, found at http://www.arrl.org/band-plan-1. Much...

RE: JR 50Mhz Rx. compatible W/ 53Mhz crystals ?

The bottom line, as I recall, is that the initial freqs. used were on 53, and due to confilicts, the band plans were modified to give RC use access of a "protected" set of freqs, and thus the 50MHz...

RE: JR 50Mhz Rx. compatible W/ 53Mhz crystals ?

Has everyone forgotten the inverse square law? The band plans? Physics? Common sense?

???

A contest should *NOT* be on the RC frequencies . . . at least not US operators . . .

A...

RE: Hobby King really sucks...

And it is so sad that the moron(s) currently in office can't seem to figure that out any more . . . .

Truly sickening . . . .

All are welcome, just come in the right way, and embrace the...

RE: JR 50Mhz Rx. compatible W/ 53Mhz crystals ?

It's obvious . . . 50MHz is an exclusive allocation to the HAM community - you don't get the dribbling idiots and kiddies you get on 72. And on 50, you don't have all the shadowing and other...

RE: Looking for a new Transmitter.

Myself, I would absolutely never give up modular . . . it's just too limiting down the road! Modular == "future proof", and non-modular == locked in with no options . . .

RE: Which New 2.4 Transmitter Would You Choose?

With a large stick? The radio has to do what you need first, only then does the price matter . . . .

RE: Which New 2.4 Transmitter Would You Choose?

If the 72MHz single freq modules work, then the 50MHz module should - same circuit, different tunings in most cases . . .

But it still sounds like it needs a bit of hacking - IE Hitec decided...

RE: Which New 2.4 Transmitter Would You Choose?

If this was directed at me, note that Hitec is also about the ONLY brand to not support 50MHz, which is critical to me . . . If a Futaba module would work in a Hitec, then maybe, but the loss of PCM...

RE: Which New 2.4 Transmitter Would You Choose?

And *that* is the one thing at this time that I am counting on. I just wish you would also support the native JR variants, so that those of us who want newer radios, but with modular frequency...

RE: JR 12X Battery problem

And making the same mistake twice in a row can blow the fuses in both packs quite easily . . . The good news is that the fuses are cheap and easy to replace . . .

RE: Which New 2.4 Transmitter Would You Choose?

For me, it's really a hard choice these days, since there is pretty much nothing on the market that fulfills my needs/desires as well as the older stuff I have:

JR is what I fly (10X) as well as...

RE: Which New 2.4 Transmitter Would You Choose?

Don't confuse popularity with quality . . . Quite often, they have absolutely nothing to do with each other. Popularity is frequently nothing more than the willingness to put big bucks in the...

RE: JR 10X question.

I have considered an 11X, but would have to get it grey market, since I *REFUSE* to be crippled by Horizon's non-modular *******ization of the 11X . . . And all the support games they play if you...

RE: DSX11 vs HITEC AURORA 9

I think that you will find that the JR won't do 10 channels in anything *but* PCM - IE go to PPM with the JR module and a JR RX, and I think you are limited to 9 as well . . . and since the 2.4...

RE: DSX11 vs HITEC AURORA 9

I solved the problem by just staying with my 10X's . . . I still haven't found anything they won't do that I want to do . . .
