It shouldn't be too big a problem providing your heli is hobby grade, just pull of the cowling and show them it's harmless... I suppose I'd keep any and all lipos separate though.

Hmmm, I have 3 12 amp 8 pin dip sitting not more 6 feet from me, and like 10 20 amp to-220s.... I'd put fuses in if you don't have them though. It's easy enough and it could save you a lot of grief...

Capacitors wouldn't allow it to short either. Only AC can "go through" a cap. Maybe he had a short somewhere, it doesn't really matter all that much because all said and done if the 3 in 1 is burnt...

Anything is possible, perhaps something that works for all servos, maybe it has it's own voltage check system, it could, instead of doing something to just one servo, it could set positions for all...
