RE: SOMEONE STOLE IT!!!!!!!!!!

Call your local police station (NOT 911) and report it stolen. If you live in a small town like I do, your local LEO's will be on the lookout for it. They _might_ even put out a BOLO, though that's a...

RE: Are you happy with your titan 12t motor?

I liked my Titan 12T while it lasted. However, I felt myself craving a bit more speed/torque in the grass.

RE: IB4200's no voltage, cannot charge. ???

I had your exact same problem. See this (http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_6453081/tm.htm) thread.

Basically, if you have a trickle NiMH charger, plug it into the battery for a short amount of...

15T SV2 Stampede Gearing

Hey all, my Titan 12T burned out on me... pebble got stuck between the A-arm and shaft. I'll be getting the 15T SV2 motor. I was curious about how I should gear it. The stock stampede has a 86T spur...

RE: Super Brain 960 gets hot and noisy - help?

One more reason why I don't think it's a major problem:

While the 960 always makes a slight high-pitched noise for me, sometimes it gets loud like you explain. This is most likely caused by the...

RE: Dumbest move ive ever made

Sheesh, I'd go nuts! Sounds like you want to upgrade, anyway?

I would've gone down all the streets looking for the trash man. Or maybe called the trash company, and asked the routes they take,...

RE: Super Brain 960 gets hot and noisy - help?

My 960 sometimes makes this loud pitched noise. I don't think it's anything to worry about. I've heightened the charger from the platform on which it sits a bit, to help keep the charger cool.

RE: Can't Hook Up Wheels to Servo!

Everything fixed, I made the holes bigger with some smaller screws, gradually increasing in diameter. Everything is cool. One thing I noticed, however: the steering doesn't seem to be as good as the...

Can't Hook Up Wheels to Servo!

Just got my Hitec HS-625MG servo in the mail, along with this Kimbrough Hitec Servo Saver (http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXS362&P=ML). However, the screws that came with the...

RE: orderd from tower hobbies?+funny story

Hmm... I just ordered a Hitec 625MG servo, a Kimbrough servo saver, and 2x Traxxas male connectors last night. Today, just now, all merchandise has shipped. I guess it depends on what you order. :D

RE: Hitech 625MG Servo - Confused!

Ok, thanks, that's all I needed to know.

And my mistake, you're right, the servo does connect to the receiver. :D

I'll get the second red Kimbrough servo saver, since there are fewer parts...

RE: Hitech 625MG Servo - Confused!

Sorry, what I meant was the output shaft. This (http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXS361&P=) servo saver says it includes servo adaptors, but this one...

Hitech 625MG Servo - Confused!

I'm going to buy a Hitec 625MG servo for my Stampede XL-5, but have a few questions before I do so:

1) The weak link on my Stampede XL-5 was the "main" large plastic gear, which connects the...

RE: Metal-geared servo: worth it?

Can you confirm this? That thread sure seems to state that the gears do indeed fit in the case.

If not, can anyone recommend a good servo, that's comparable to the stock #2018, and uses the same...

Metal-geared servo: worth it?

I'm contemplating whether or not to buy a metal geared servo, or perform this (http://monster.traxxas.com/showthread.php?t=88853) "mod".

I broke the "main" gear on my #2018 Stampede XL-5 stock...

RE: Good way to wheelie?

I can always wheelie from a dead stop to full throttle, in the grass. However, I've only done it a few times (to show off), because it'll rip up the gears. It's not really worth it, IMO.

RE: Titan 12T replacement

Team Orion 15T SV2 BB. 15T 540 is the limit on the XL-5 ESC, so that's the way to go. :D I'll be getting one when my Titan 12T dies.

RE: i know this is wrong and bad but why?

Agreed. The rapid heating/cooling (and therefore expanding/contracting) of the batteries can't be good for it. After it's cooled, I'm sure it's fine.

Be sure to let them come back to near-room...

RE: orderd from tower hobbies?+funny story

I think TowerHobbies is a bit slow in shipping, actually. UPS Ground (which they shipped my Stampede via) is always fast, but it took them two days just to collect the parts (5 of them) and ship them...

RE: OFFICAL SPEED THREAD

You're right about reaction time. If you wanted to make that less of an issue, try having whoever runs the stopwatch test their reaction time here...

RE: OFFICAL SPEED THREAD

Heh, actually, my math is correct. Maybe putting it in this form will help:

100 ft x 1 mi x 60 s x 60 min
----------------------------------
2.25 s x 5280 ft x 1 min x 1 hr

This equals...

RE: boiling stock parts? ??

Uhh, because $4 is a lot cheaper than $25+, and I don't feel I need to buy a metal-geared servo right now. :D It took about a month to break the plastic gear on the stock servo, so it's not a total...

RE: boiling stock parts? ??

Hmm, I wonder if this would be a good idea on servo gears? I just had a gear snap in my Stampede's servo, and I'm wondering if boiling the gear would make it more or less durable... it might even...

RE: OFFICAL SPEED THREAD

Simply set up a drag of X feet, have someone time the run, and calculate it from there. For best results (to lessen the effect of latency of human reaction on the speed/time), set up a longer drag.

RE: loose wheel's

Funny, my one wheel just started doing that yesterday. Take apart the nut that holds your wheel on. Then, before the metal spacer should be a washer which acts as a spacer. If it's not there, that's...
