RE: "Free" DVD from the AMA

I don't know what company is doing this. The package was sent from York, PA with the AMA logo all over it. The letter inviting me to "send in your member reply form with $9.00 if you like it"...

RE: "Free" DVD from the AMA

No, I haven't been a minor for a long time. The point is sending unsolicited merchandise. The AMA should not be doing this, period. Maybe I should send them a bill for the time spent repackaging the...

"Free" DVD from the AMA

I had a package waiting for me from the AMA when I got home tonight. I opened it thinking it was my membership renewal. I found a DVD and a nice P-51 coin. I thought this was pretty cool thing to go...

RE: Triton NiMh charging problem

My gripe with the Triton and charging NiMH batteries is the topping charge indication. When the charger swithches over to the topping charge, the total mAh reading resets and it only shows what went...

RE: HI-TEC channels different than FUTABA rx ?

Mixing and encoding are done in the transmitter. It doesn't matter which receiver channel is used for which function. Plug the servo that executes the appropriate function into the receiver channel...

RE: Interior installation of antenna in an Astro Hog???

Balsa and ply are transparent to R/C radio frequemcies. The only time an internal antenna may have issues is if it is run next to a long servo extension. I use internal antennas in all my airplanes...

RE: Broblems with a Triton Charger

The Triton resets the total charge when it goes into topping charge mode. If you don't watch it when it switches, you will have no idea how much went in except for the topping charge.. A very...

Vermont Belle - first flight

Finally flew my NSP Vermont Belle. It is powered with an AXI 2212/20, 3 cell 1500 mah Kokam lipo and an APC 9-4.5 prop. Weighs 21 oz and Motocalc predicted 22 oz of thrust. It took off from grass in...

RE: RealFlight???

My son soloed after about a dozen "real" flights without a buddy box and I never took the transmitter from him. While I would like to take credit for being such a fantastic instructor, hour of...

RE: Mega 16/15 and Phoenix 25 problems

Sounds like a bad controller. I had the same problem with a Phoenix 25 on an LMH Corona. Called Castle Creations, and they shipped me a new one with a return label for the old one. Great customer...

RE: Home For Saito 56

I using a Saito .56 in a Slowpoke Sport 40. Great combination if you want to try something a little different.

RE: Corona canopy

Thanks. I just ordered one of the short canopies from Darth. I was hoping not to have to glue it together, but anything has to be easier than the LMH canopies.

RE: Anyone know anything about the Great Planes Slinger???

It is most definitely NOT a trainer. It's not hard to fly, bur it goes where you point it and it's quite fast. Train your wife with something easy to fly like a Slow Stick.

RE: Anyone know anything about the Great Planes Slinger???

Extremely easy to build, great fun to fly. Fast and quite aerobatic. Launching it is a bit of a trick. Have someone else do it for the first couple of flights. It's a great value, hard to find...

Corona canopy

Can someone recommend a good canopy for the Corona? The LMH canopies are a pain to build and hard to find right now. A simple, one-piece fiberglass (or plastic) canopy is all I'm looking for. A...

RE: Engine, Saito or OS

I am flying my Spacewalker with an OS 91. It flies well with plenty of power. I considered a Saito 91, but in this case the lighter engine doesn't help. My Spacewalker required six ounces of lead on...

RE: GP Slowpoke: Actual vs Real Flight G2

The real Slowpoke flies a lot like the Realfllight version. It is easier to land in the real world with less tendency to float. Overall, the simulation is realistic. The Slowpoke is a lot of fun to...

RE: PITTS 2B BIPLANE

RE: Lipo/Corona?

As strange as this sounds, you might as well use a 2400 nicad pack. This gives 9-10 minute flights. The Corona needs sufficient weight to allow the rotor to spin up to a high enough speed for...

RE: 120 LMH Corona After Raptor 30?

Go brushless from the start if you can afford it. I'm using a Mega 16/15/3 with a Phoenix 35 ESC (both from Castle Creations). The gyro is a Helimax micro piezo (about $50). For servos, use Hitec...

RE: 120 LMH Corona After Raptor 30?

I have exactly that combination of helicopters. I actually started with the glow LMH-110 and learned to fly with that. Got tired of fighting with the Norvel engine and got the Raptor. The Raptor was...

RE: Corona 120 flight times?

With a Mega 16/15/3 brushless motor and an 8 cell 2400 mah nicad pack, I get 9 solid minutes of hovering. Throw in some forward flight, and that goes up to 10-11 minutes with solid power throughout...

RE: Great Planes 1/4 Spacewalker

The Spacewalker is one of my favorite airplanes. It flies extremely well and looks fantastic in the air. Minor complaints - the cowl color doesn't match the red covering and it took a lot of weight...
