RE: HPI MT2 Vs. XTM X-Cellerator

i do agree that there is way too much emphasis on top speed. that just about never matters... my **** could go 150 mph for all i care, if it doesn't hook coming out of a turn it's useless.

RE: HPI MT2 Vs. XTM X-Cellerator

RE: HPI MT2

the shimming thing does work, the gears sound a little noisy at first but after they heat up they get a good wear pattern going and quiet down quite a bit.

RE: Hop ups

my first mods were a 1400 mah nimh hump pack, hitec 645mg servo, and aluminum c-hubs from new era. made it tough and fun to drive... plan on getting an .18 soon.

RE: HPI MT2

it definitely happened to mine. HPI claimed to fix the problem by going back to machined gears but the ones i got were regular cast pieces.

RE: HPI MT2

i would say it's tough, like any other truck there are areas that need to be addressed... the ones that i found were the c-hubs and the diffs. $30 in parts fixes that pretty easily though, and it...

RE: HPI MT2

my MT2 did 38ish on a very lean tune through a jugs gun... i wouldn't base my first truck off of how fast it goes though. i would base it off of toughness, suspension setup, and ease of getting...

RE: just bought an mt2

RE: Shocks on mt2

i tackled my ground clearance problem a few different ways... first was to put a heavier shock oil in. then i went to a stiff spring and tires with a taller sidewall... lands nice and soft now.
