if you really mean 'Hovercraft' then you'd do much better with air rudders behind your thrust fan-unless your meaning an airboat then water rudders are fine

well i run both! nitro and brushless
only done a 3 pointer brushless at the minute -but bang for bucks the towerpro combo -2409 with esc and prop from hobbycity does a fair job on mine!
spins a 8...

you can also glue it with polyurethane glue-(gorilla glue?) it foams up slightly when it cures- so make sure you cramp it in place-good for gap filling if your recess isn't to hot!

nice would love to see how u do ali brazing- i use the HTS-2000 ali brazing rods with a MAPP gas canister on a plumbers torch- gets hot enough to do brass braizing as well

i would guess yours will run faster as i ended up glassing the whole bottom as well-which i did with 1/8 ply!...

the electric brushless for sheer ease of switch on and play but batteries dont last long enough for all day running
switch to nitro for power and long running
some people can't run...

foam wise you can also try the yellowy white stuff that has foil on both sides- its polyurethane foam so fibreglass doesnt melt it- i doubt fuel will either
you can get it from builders merchnts...
