RE: CMPro Piper J-3 Cub 120 91

Hello, hope this thread isn't dead, but I have a question. I'm wanting to buy this plane, but want unlimited vertical with it. I fly mostly 3D and want to be able to hover it. I'm thinking of keeping...

RE: ZDZ 80RV New Carb

I had to make my own throttle arm. The geometry I needed would not work with the stock arm. I simple made a longer arm and mounted it right on top of the other. Made for an easy fix.

RE: zdz carb

I have the ZDZ 80 RV also. Mine did not have the Bing carb, but had the Walbro WJ-38 and was a pain to deal with. I called RCSHOWCASE and they set me up with the WJ-71 carb which turned out perfect....

RE: ZDZ-80 RV needle adjustment

I have the same engine. Get the Walbro WJ-71 carb from RCSHOWCASE and be done with it. The carb you have is the WJ-38 I am guessing. I had that carb and had issue after issue. I guess that is why...

RE: zdz 80 slober in plane from carb

I am just using the standard carb screws. I was thinking of a hex head of some sort, but my motor box is so small that there is not much room for anything, especially around the stack, to tighten the...

RE: zdz 80 slober in plane from carb

Wow, mine didn't come slotted also. I am not sure I like the word "FORCE" on my plane, to much money to be forcing things into place. I ended up not even messing with my stack. I will build a wall...

RE: zdz 80 slober in plane from carb

NICE.....I like that idea. I am going to try that once I find a way to get it on the carb. I am also sealing off the firewall box to the rest of the plane just in case. I am not sure if I can cut a...

RE: zdz 80 slober in plane from carb

Ok, I ordered the Aluminum trumpet from RCSHOWCASE.COM. Got it Friday and spent all weekend trying to make it fit. Anyone have issues with these? I had to reem out the holes larger to fit the screws...

RE: zdz 80 slober in plane from carb

WOW, finally someone helped us. I appriciate that reply Doug, that makes sense now.

Mine starts every time this way. I put full choke, ignition on, couple clicks up, and flip till it pops. Then...

RE: zdz 80 slober in plane from carb

Alright........Installed the new carb (WJ-71-1) on my ZDZ 80 and let me tell you, its like night and day. Runs like a new engine. That old carb was trash I guess cause I never would have got it to...

RE: Aviation Models 33% Yak Build Thread

Well, worked on my Yak all last night getting the CF wing tube to fit. I ended up sanding the inside of the tube with a closet rod from my house. Worked great, just time consuming. I used the sticky...

RE: Aviation Models 33% Yak Build Thread

Well, my 8711 has a little wag in it. Not sure what range of throttle, but the wag was real bad at first, so I tried an SWB 4inch offset servo arm and it fixed a lot of it. I read somewhere that...

RE: Aviation Models 33% Yak Build Thread

I have the JR 8711a on my rudder and let me tell you, on 6volts there is not lack. Knife edge loops are flawless. I just...

RE: Aviation Models 33% Yak Build Thread

Ok, just got my new CF wing tube and gear for my Yak 33% from TBM. I think by switching to the CF goodies I lost about 12 OZ [sm=thumbs_up.gif] I have been flying it with the Vess 26A on the ZDZ...

RE: zdz 80 slober in plane from carb

Ether way the Vess is the way to go. If I were you I would order one of those nice trumpets from RC SHOWCASE and should help on the fuel every where. I had another Yak with a ZDZ 40 on it and had the...

RE: zdz 80 slober in plane from carb

RE: zdz 80 slober in plane from carb

Well, it slows down just enough to land, but idle is a killer on it. The carb is so touchy that it changes dramatically by turning the needle just a hair. It has been a pain in my a.. for a month...

RE: zdz 80 slober in plane from carb

What is your low speed set to? Mine is around 1 1/2 out. Will your ZDZ idle low enough to sit still? Mine will not no matter which way I go on the low speed. Most guys I have talked to said just...

Will do......

How old is your carb and engine? Mine is pretty old and sat around for a year or more. You might just have a bad carb. Here is mine.

RE: zdz 80 slober in plane from carb

I also have this problem with my ZDZ 80 carb. I tried a rebuild kit and still no change. I noticed when I first choke the engine it sucks a ton of fuel into the carb and a lot of it spills out in to...
