I'm still running this on a medusa 3650 3300kv and the OG mamba max esc. 3s, no external bec.

It's been an absolute tank, and one of the best RC car/truck of any scale I've ever owned in 20+ years...

RE: The mini everyone has always wanted, losi 1/14th 8ight

Get it. Its a great 1/16th scale rc. The pros far out weight the cons. You can read about my thoughts on the buggy on page 2.

Quick tips:
- get an xray micro servo saver for the stock servo....

RE: Kyosho Mini-Z Buggy

I've gotten in a few good runs with this and its way better than the redcat sumo. Not sure why Hipchips doesn't think so.

I have a stock redcat sumo and its slower than my mini-z buggy. The...

RE: stripping gears?

If your gear mesh is set correctly, the noise is probably the dog bones hitting the outdrives when you accelerate. Mine sounds similar, but my gears are in perfect condition. You can try to soften...

I will be receiving my mini-z laser zx-5 tonight.
A little early Christmas present for myself! Can't wait!

RE: Contemplating XTM Rage

Its smaller than the MLST2 and has its fair share of problems as well. The diffs are solid, but the plastic knuckles are brittle and the alloy ones were really expensive when they came out. A set of...

RE: The mini everyone has always wanted, losi 1/14th 8ight

On a different note, I got a new shell for the mini 8ight. I wasn't digging the "Optimus" body anymore.

Phat Bodies 1/16 "Bolt" shell

RE: The mini everyone has always wanted, losi 1/14th 8ight

I've read about this over on the other forum. Seems as if the dog bones are slightly too long and rub against the outdrives when the shocks are fully compressed. Cvd's should be released soon, but in...

RE: Is this lipo salvageable?

Well, you can salvage the two good cells and turn it into a 2s pack. The third one at 1.1v is not safe. Keep the lipo in a fire safe container until you figure out what you want to do with it.

RE: The mini everyone has always wanted, losi 1/14th 8ight

On a completely different note...

I installed a novak 1000uf cap on the stock esc to smooth out the power, and it seems to be helping a great deal.
I just ran a full 1700mah lipo through it...

RE: The mini everyone has always wanted, losi 1/14th 8ight

Hi magnum,
Sorry for not getting back to you yesterday. Glad the servo saver is working out for you. I'm not sure what the size of the screw is, so the best option for you is to go to your local...

RE: The mini everyone has always wanted, losi 1/14th 8ight

Not yet, but it couldn't hurt.

On a side note,
After trying out a few different motor combinations, I would suggest going with a motor size of 26mm x 40mm max. Any larger in diameter...

RE: The mini everyone has always wanted, losi 1/14th 8ight

Once again, I will say that if you don't own one, you shouldn't pass judgement.

Take a look at my gallery, then tell me if you think I'm a losi fan boy...

Also, your rc18 may be a...

RE: The mini everyone has always wanted, losi 1/14th 8ight

Ahhh.... I remember when I used to have that idealistic point of view.

RE: Best brushles basher? 1/16

I'm going to have to toss in my vote with Foxy here. The new Losi mini 8ight makes a fantastic basher.

RE: Mini 8ight servo saver issue

I think you misunderstood my reply... I just suggested the m18t servo saver. Not the m18t hs-81mg servo itself.

Actually, the option I went with is a Hitec 225mg with a vendetta servo saver. I...

RE: The mini everyone has always wanted, losi 1/14th 8ight

The e-revo 1/16 wheels will fit.

The Team Bluegroove truggy body fits perfectly on the mini 8. It's the same body that they sold for the Mini Inferno ST a few years ago.

RE: Mini 8ight servo saver issue

I believe you can use an xray micro servo saver for the m18t. The down side to that option is, the xray servo saver is almost as expensive as a new servo ($14.99 at Amain).

RE: The mini everyone has always wanted, losi 1/14th 8ight

Start with this (or something similar)

Put one strip on your chassis and the other on your lipo. The normal battery brace will...

RE: The mini everyone has always wanted, losi 1/14th 8ight

It can if you cut off the outer edge of the battery tray. Its actually just two small pieces. No dremel required. The plastic is soft enough for lexan scissors.

Homey55,
you can do the same...
